Waiting on the Cowardly Dante!!
WTF does this have to do with America? Why have we gotten involved? Why are we putting America lives in the line of fire again? Where are all the WAR PROTESTERS and PEACE ACTIVISTS???

Obama has ordered a sharp increase in U.S. Special Operations forces deployed to Uganda and sent U.S. military aircraft there for the first time in the ongoing effort to hunt down warlord Joseph Kony across a broad swath of central Africa.

The CV-22 Osprey aircraft will arrive in Uganda by midweek, along with refueling aircraft and about 150 Air Force Special Operations forces and other airmen to fly and maintain the planes, according to Amanda Dory, deputy assistant secretary of defense for African affairs. At least four Ospreys will be deployed.

The White House began to notify Congress, under the War Powers Act, of the new deployments as they began Sunday night. Dory and other officials emphasized that the Ospreys will be used for troop transport and that the rules of engagement for U.S. forces remain the same as for about 100 Special Operations troops that Obama first sent to help find Kony in October 2011.

U.S. personnel are authorized to “provide information, advice and assistance” to an African Union military task force tracking Kony and his organization, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), across Uganda, the Central African Republic, South Sudan and Congo. While combat-equipped, they are prohibited from engaging LRA forces unless in self-defense......

Kony is a mass murderer who should face justice for crimes against humanity, like Saddam Hussein.
ICC - Uganda

He should have been taken out a long time ago, along with a whole bunch of others.

I agree, BUT NOT BY America...Let someone else carry the water for a change!
The right-wing didn't say that about Iraq.

What part of treaty don't you understand?...and what part of Saddam breaking his surrender after Gulf War I did we not have to take action on?

It has at least as much to do with America as Iraq did

You really are stupid, aren't you?

Iraq was, among other reasons, a n act to prevent WWIII.

Bringing justice to Kony or Kony to justice is about some other things.

Yeah, he has it coming. But really.

Why him out of all the other bad guys on Earth?

I wonder if Obama is somehow playing a racial angle.

then let the UN send troops in....that should be their job....

The UN is not a well equipped, well led, cohesive, coordinated fighting force.

They are better left to intervene in limited military situations and to act as peace keepers (which they are shitty at in Israel's view, IIRC). When they are in support of the US military they have some utility, but by themselves, no.

Look at the cluster fuck that happened in Mogadishu, Somalia during the Blackhawk Down incident.

The UN troops were damn near worthless.

Yeah, no shit. And Reagan sold weapons to both Iran and Iraq. No shit. And the CIA overthrew the democratically elected government in Iran in 1953. No shit. And marijuana plants can make gasoline without deep sea oil spills and endless war for corporate profit. No shit.

Why, do we have a treaty with Uganda for mutual protection as we did with Kuwait?

We never had such a treaty prior to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait.

Quite the opposite. US Diplomat April Glaspie green lighted the invasion when asked by Saddam Hussein.

It only got dicey when they rolled the whole country and oil companies started complaining.

And we are a big part of the UN.

This guy is a sicko. He's a blight. He needs to be stopped.
