I don't see it going anywhere. The Turkish military would not allow it.

And the PM would be voted out. He may be playing chicken with his job as it is.

In conflict, planes do not shoot only planes. And warships dont sink warships only.
All Mutlti-Role and Anti-Air-Warfare warships of Turkey would be sent into area.

I agree with Baruch, despite all his hot air the head turkey really isn't looking for a war.

Man, Turkey has to know they would get slaughtered if they entered a shooting a war with Israel. I mean for real.

highly unlikely. check otu the stats on turkeys military and artillery

Yeah, leave it the Turkish military to fire artillery from a ship. Is that where a loose cannon on deck comes from?

Here's the thing blu, when the Israeli Air Force fires the rockets, Turkish ships won't even see them. Sort of like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

Interesting choice of names. The brits had a habit of naming their ships after virutes or greek mythical heroes. I wonder what they thought of our practice of naming our flat tops after Revolutionary war battles.

The japanese had a habit of naming their ships after flowers. It was just one more example of their really weird mental disturbance. (They named their attempt at a guided missile the Cherry petal. You don't want to know about the guidance package)

(...)when the Israeli Air Force fires the rockets, Turkish ships won't even see them. (...)

The thing is, that both land-based radars in Israel and Turkey cover (certainly) already the area of a possible conflict zone.
And off-course the warships, according to their roles, have all types of sensors, radar and electronic-warfare systems on them:
Here a list of them (dont know how actual the list is)
World Navies Today: Turkey

According to their built-roles warships have capabilities to track and shoot down targets in the air.
Israel is no USA Army with no Star Wars weapons.

I have no idea who would "win" the day between Isreal and Turkey, but I'm fairly sure that such an event would not bode well for US interests, either way.

I find it rather amusing that some of you are rattling sabers (or in this case is it scimitars?) as though you'd like to see this escalate into full blown war.

Let me remind you chickenhawks (yeah, that's right, chickenhawks -- none of you are going to be combatants -- what else can we think?) these two nations are both allied to the USA.

So you Americans with a blood lust for this war (regardless for whom you cheer to win) are not being especially patriotic.

Wow! Those Turks are awesome. They have solved the problem of flying under the radar on the water huh? Equally as impressive the their ability to get a boat out of the way of a missile. Ships at mach two. What a ride.

The Arabs greatly outnumbered the Israelis in men, tanks, and guns in 1967 and 1973. They got their butts kicked both times. Turks will discover that it isn't like killing Kurds.

I thought it was a protest of a naval blockade. Now the Prime Minister of Turkey is leading his troops into battle. Where was the declaration of war?

It wasn't anything. It was verbal farting by the Turks, something they know how to do real well. When the stink clears everyone will breathe easy again.

Israelis have no aims on maritime area.
Turks have, that's the reason why we have a Navy.
Israel would have to fight Navy+Airforce at same time, you say, flying under radar on water-level as if there is no Turkish Airforce.
Turkish Air Force - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is an Air-Force, accompanied by a Navy to unite firepower in the area of conflict.

In a conventional war, only the USA has the capability to recover after a conventional material war with Turkey and mass the needed euquipment afront the Turkish horizon.

Israel-Turkey war, given that it starts in next years, shifts into Turkish advantage with length of the conflict, as Turkey has more capabilities then Israel to replace lost material. Even if Israel would win at present, it won't recover after that, same for Turkey.

War with Turkey not in next years, but let's say in 10-15 years, only raises one question: If Turkey has reached an economic level to recover after having destroyed Israelian Army.

Off course Nukes is game-changer.

shit is about to get serious. turkey's army would fuck israel up. if I was israel, after much bitching, etc ( PR ), I would then let them through claiming diplomacy etc cuz PM on board

An act of war should be met with the proper response. The US better back Israel in this. Turkey wants war, let them have it.

Speaking of the problems of getting involved with entangling alliances...

The North Atlantic Treaty
Article 3

In order more effectively to achieve the objectives of this Treaty, the Parties, separately and jointly, by means of continuous and effective self-help and mutual aid, will maintain and develop their individual and collective capacity to resist armed attack.
