FROM THE SENATOR WHO ACTUALLY WROTE THE 14TH AMENDMENT CLAUSE CONCERNING BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP:

You understand that any writings or statements by anybody other that what is actually in the amendment doesn't matter, right? If Jacob Howard believed that quote should have been part of the amendment, he should have included it so it could be voted on. What is actually written in the constitution and amendments are all we have to go on, no matter how much you want things to be different.

Just like the 2nd Amendment, we can look at how it was applied the day after it was ratified for clarification. We don't have to go join a militia and put a few commas in our names to get a gun after all.

Purge, remember, the America we had back then was aggressive and set about conquering the continent through colonization.

Today, eh, our goal to pass China in GDP to pay for our competing Space Forces is to hope China poops themselves out of being a super power. We have empty cities, plenty of McJobs and a failure to launch generation focused on becoming professional video gamers.

You can look at this as a something that has to be corrected because it is being abused by other Nations and the people from outside the Country. They have travel agencys that setup travel for Mothers who travel here just to give birth. They take away a Baby who is a ticket to the USA and free Citizenship papers.

So you don't support the Roe v Wade decision as constitutional.

But still, the intent of the words at the time of their being signed into law is critical.

What the words actually say is what was voted on.

If that's the case, then why aren't the children of Ambasador's given citizenship?

The children of ambassadors are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States any more than their parents are. They are under jurisdiction and allegiance to the country the parents represent

All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof.
