When the story broke in Golf magazine yesterday that President Donald Trump had told some golf partners, “That White House is a real dump,” many people expressed dismay, but the maids, butlers, plumbers, chefs, painters and dozens of other staff who make the White House run every day were appalled.

You know, one thing about Trump is that he telegraphs his weakness. Time and time again we've observed that whatever aspersion he levies at his competitors and opponents is in fact a demerit he has "in spades" over them. With regard to his schedule, I seem to recall his referring to Jeb Bush, a man some six or seven years his junior and who's obviously in markedly better health (Trump is obese), as "low energy."

One thing that will give away how hard the man's working is the same thing that indicated many a past President was "present": his hair color and his face. If his face is not noticeably greyer and his face not clearly aged soon, it's highly likely he hasn't been doing much of anything having gravitas.

In a few years, Barron will be too old for that and he'll never get that chance back.
