Trump wasn't insinuating anything. He was saying someone had to confront China and that had to be him. The media has been leading the coup against Trump from day 1 so it's not surprising when they try to shape any of Trump's statements in a radical or negative light. They do it to everything he says. To a reasonable person, they appear to be unhinged to the point of mental unbalance.
