Trump on SNL: Hispanic Coalition Protest

SNL is facing the same kind of future as the Republican Party. One with what looks like extremely limited friends and support from the Hispanic community. Should be interesting to see how that works out for both of them.

The problem with any people group that reacts like this is they use their power to manipulate and control others (society, business, the government etc.)

It is eroding our freedom of speech, as this nation becomes more and more bullied by groups that decide to "blackmail" society with their threats....

It's wrong.

You think the constitutional rights to free speech should be reserved only for multi million dollar corporations that own and control media outlets? The rights of citizens to organize and speak as a community is in some way damaging to America?
Trump is the bully here, and SNL is the enabler. It isn't even a question of him making more insulting and negative comments about Hispanics. SNL agreeing to let him use there venue and stage implies a kind of endorsement. The fact that in all the decades they have been on TV they have never had a Hispanic in their line up of comedians is disturbing and worthy of a boycott in and of itself.

No it's not justified, freedom of expression is freedom of expression and just because we don't like what someone has to say or it offends some group of people is not a justification to suppress that speech. People in this country need to grow up and learn to deal with opposing viewpoints like rational adults instead of spoiled children, this environment of "political correctness" that has infected our national discourse reminds me of medieval Europe and the way the Catholic Church treated anybody that expressed an opinion that didn't square with it's dogma.

As far as Trump goes, his only redeeming quality is that he seems to go out of his way to offend the forces of political correctness for which he has my deepest thanks, so fuck the PC shock troops, let Donald speak his peace on SNL or any other forum that will have him. :)

If anyone that ever said anything controversial or insulting to ANYONE (no preferential treatment here, right?) was banned or prohibited from speaking publically, endorsing etc. there would be no guests appearances or endorsements.

The media would like you to think Trump is the bully. It's just another people group trying to get everyone to jump through hoops for their entertainment.

For the record, don't worry about the Hispanics. They will be the dominant race here in the US very soon. I wouldn't have too much pity for them (even if you are one....)

All three entities have rights to say what they want. Trump should not be prevented, and certainly appears to be able to say what ever he wants and address whatever issue he wants. SNL and the network have a right to have whoever they want on their program. The organizers of any boycott also has a right to voice their opinions and address their grievances by the use of a boycott. It all comes down to SNL and the network deciding to give Trump a stage or not. The boycott folks are in a sense, petitioning the show and network and threatening financial implications if they are not given attention. It is up to the show and network to decide which way it wants to go. Seems like the way freedom is supposed to work.

Sure they can do it. But it's still blackmailing someone into keeping their mouth shut.... please tell me the damage that would be caused if he went on the show? What's amazing is these "people groups" are already getting preferential treatment, but, it's never good enough....

If we would just act like adults the assimilation process would occur naturally, but people want to continue to make waves and stir up animosity in this country

There is no common bond for the greater good.

This is true, however it is instructive to examine their reasoning behind said petition (which they have every right to make), given the anti-free speech implications of what they are attempting to do I think it would be only appropriate if the portion of society that still actually cares about it's God given, constitutionally protected right to free speech were to completely shun in all legal manner and forms available to them groups like "the Hispanic Coalition" until they get the message that the right to free speech doesn't include an exemption for speech that might offend somebody (which judging by their "petition" they don't yet understand).

You are coming up with excuses for why freedoms should be limited or taken away from people because you disagree with a particular cause.

Yup. Our culture is being divided into tribes of hypersensitive narcissists more and more every day.

Identity Politics continues to cause this country harm. Dividing us into groups and pitting us against each other certainly is effective politically, but it's cynical in the extreme.

Liberals take their comedy shows and cartoons seriously, it's what shapes their world view. A conservative would either laugh at how stupid a bit was or change channels. If the leftist disagrees with an idea they don't want anyone to even see it.

Let 'em protest...

If they want to stand with the 12,000,000 Illegal Alien invaders on our soil, rather than their fellow countrymen, that's on them...

Doesn't mean that the rest of us have to sit still and take it, though...

NBC shouldn't do a thing, and should allow the show to go on, unchanged, as scheduled.

Enough of this mollycoddle-the-Illegals-and-their-supporters happy horseshit, already...

Come on, you guys have an entire news network dedicated to comedy.

I don't have a network. Unlike the left, many conservatives aren't part of a Borg.

You do not have a right to not be offended. If they don't like Trump then they do not have to watch that episode of SNL. Besides, any protest is purely political. Trump is not Andrew Dice Clay. Trump is not going to go on SNL and call Hispanics a bunch a "fucking beaners". This is just another sign that those fucking leaf blowers have no intention of assimilating into our culture. As such, the pro-Hispanic lobby are a bunch of disingenuous shits.

Fuck the little beaners.

Hispanic Coalition Asks 'SNL' to "Rescind" Donald Trump's Hosting Invitation

Is this justified?
Do you think SNL will "un-invited" Trump to host?

(Part of the article says this would enable Trump's "hate speech" against Hispanics. Do you really think he's going to go on SNL and bash Hispanic's?.... seriously....)

I agree that NBC should rescind Trump's hosting invitation - but I doubt it will. Trump should not have the SNL platform to help sanitize his Hispanic hate speech with humor.

Trump has said nothing hateful about the fucking beaners. All he has done is to speak about immigration law and policy in a way that may result in consequences that the swarthy little brownies, or certain factions thereof, do not agree with.

To take this and convert it to some form of racist hate is disgusting and low rent shit. You have no shame. Of course, you are a member of a victim class and actively practice Victimology, so I am not surprised by you spewing such ridiculous tripe.
