As far as "dictators' go..both FDR and Lincoln had, and used, far more power than Trump has. As most here know, I'm not a Trump guy....and I'd love to see him ousted, in the General election. I see you are in need of a basic civics lesson on our Constitution and impeachment provisions..

1. Investigation and DUE PROCESS of both the accused and those who accuse is done in the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

In this case that very basic premise was denied and done in secret. Only the Accusers were granted say. This violates the very basic tenets of this process.

2. The SENATE is responsible for determining if the evidence collected from both sides by the House warrants removal from office. It is NOT their job to investigate as they are the JURY and not the investigating branch.

By Democrats denying DUE PROCESS and proper investigative procedures to collect both evidence for and against the accused, they did it in secret, they doomed the outcome. The founding fathers warned of a purely partisan impeachment being of concern and that is why the process was given two parts... A check and balance to powers.
