Trump is up by 8 points nationally. What happens if he loses the electoral college?

No one questioned the EC then.
In fact, no one questioned the EC until it started costing Democrats elections.

Of course they did. The EC broke immediately, which is why we have a 12th amendment. It broke even worse in 1824. The idea that the EC only started generating controversies after 1865 is silly.

The thing we have today doesn’t look anything like what was originally set up or the system described in Federalist 68. Even the original reason for its existence was eliminated in the 13th amendment. It’s a nonsensical vestigial organ.

Only in terms of procedure, not as a concept.
t broke even worse in 1824.
The electoral process, including the EC, worked exactly as intended in 1924.

Amend the Constitution.
Can you think of 13 states that will vote no?

Just heard it on my favorite radio program (Sid & Friends) - Trump is up nationally by 8 points in the polls. The election should be a cakewalk and Mr. Magoo should be thrown out of office on his head. But "should' doesn't equal "will". I think this election is a toss up and I think democrats cheating is a given. The only question is will there be enough of it to give old man Biden the win?
you need to look at the polls.

Pro abortion and pro justice reform. I could never support any one with that as part of their platform.

and this is why we as a country are 34T in debt, social issues like this rule the voting booth

Nahhhh, if Trump didn't have the Russian Hacked and stolen DNC and Clinton campaign email help that he gladly took to campaign on and use 24/7, he would have lost.
lol

No, Donald Trump won because Hillary is the most hated woman in America.

The whole left-right thing comes down to who do you hate more, Hillary or Trump. :p

Hillary got 3,000,000 (million) more votes in support of her from the American citizens in 2016 than Trump did.

If she is the most hated woman as you claim, then what is Trump, having even less support and votes from the American people, than her? :dunno:

Oops

The cultists just mindlessly spout the first thought that fizzles into their brains.

She was the most qualified candidate in history, why did she lose to 2 amateurs?

If Trump wins the electoral college and the popular vote what of those states that changed the law to keep Trump out? In an attempt to keep Trump out of the white house some states changed their laws. They give all of their electoral votes to whoever wins the popular vote. Then what?

No state awards their electoral college votes based on the national popular vote.

There are states that may have passed legislation to join the compact, but that hasn't kicked in yet and are not active. It doesn't become operative until enough states join the compact so that the compacts total EC votes equals or exceeds 270.

There is no way the compact is kicking in for the 2024 election.
