Trump cancelled subsidies for one reason then agrees to sign extension

My understanding is that Obama signed an EO that funded subsidies, that was beyond his jurisdiction. Trump told Congress to do their job and Trump did not decide to continue down an illegal path. So with Congress taking action today, Trump has forced Congress to do their job. It's a great concept, actually Democrats and Republicans have worked jointly to fix the messy and illegal funding if insurance.

Oh, please. Trump cut the funding to attempt to sabotage the ACA. Then he realized the people who were going to get hurt by this the most were h is own supporters, so he blinked.

Yeah but lefties rioted and occupied Wall Street and ranted about corporate welfare and corporate wealth and now the freaking hypocrites are whining because insurance corporations aren't getting billions in government subsidies.
If you asshats throw a fit anytime a single payer proposal is brought up, obviously concessions must be made to give healthcare to millions who don’t have it. Insurers make more money and poor people get healthcare at the same time. Quit whining.

You gotta love the left------------> Who do they hate? INSURANCE COMPANY'S! What were their profits? Up 46%! What do they want to do? Give the EVIL insurance company's money, lol.

CONCLUSION.........they are schizophrenic!

I 100% agree with a couple of other posters------------> MAKE congress subsidize them. By constitutional law, the House holds the country's purse strings; or are we not going by the constitution? Only they, by law, can insert into the budget money for this; not Trump, not Obama, not any President. Hell, the Supreme court said so, did they not? If the people want it/do not want it, then call your congress critter, simple as that. It is called, FOLLOWING THE CONSTITUTION, in case you didn't know.

Same goes for illegal aliens. You don't like the current laws, pass a bill in congress. Can't get enough support? Then current law is still in effect. It is NOT rocket science, and as much as the left likes using it as a political football, at the end of the day------->it is the SWORN DUTY of our elected officials to uphold our laws, or change them; NOT to ignore them-)

Well then... they need to do some new regulations right? (Something Trump hates) Put a cap on insurance premium raises. Only give subsidies to companies that prove they need them. Make the companies be more transparent and show what the corporate bonuses are. Etc.

Yawn, another constitutional cultist. The thing was, Obama was willing to take the heat for maintaining an unpopular law, the Orange Shitgibbon wasn't. So Congress did what it should have done six years ago.

I'd prefer to have a public option for people the insurance industry won't cover. The Republicans don't want that because frankly, a lot of people would just take the public option if offered.

If they want the subsidies, they will. I'm pretty sure the Feds had a deadline of October 20th.

Except some companies already started their open enrollments for off the marketplace October 1st. I know this for a fact. We have already been told they will not roll back the prices once implemented.

But won't that just mean that there will need to be more subsidies to pay the difference?

Subsidy as in advanced premium tax credit? Or cost share reductions?

But If one's income is projected to be about the same as this year the aptc will go up on the silver plans. The people that have already renewed off exchange just got screwed with a huge rate increase. If the insurance companies were smart they'd stop the press now, but Nov 1 is very close and things don't happen overnight with state insurance offices.

The first set of rates filed by one company called for under 10% rate increase, they could not go with that with trump hanging over their head.

As in the subsidies that Congress is looking to put back in action that Trump stopped. The ones that help lower income families to pay for their health insurance.

Those aren't the subsidies trump stopped, he couldn't they are known as advanced premium tax credit and that was written into law. It was the cost share reductions he stopped, it is the one that anyone that was in 100%-250% of Federal Poverty Level lowered their deductibles, co-pays and max out of pocket on silver plans only.
So who's going to help those with sixteen thousand dollar deductibles?

no democrats did, why the fk do you think all of the GOP ran on repeal and replace for seven fking years
To fool you into believING they were never for it and they have a super secret awesome plan. And the crazy part is, they don't have shit but you still believe them.

Just goes to show, it's easier to fool people than it is to convince then they've been fooled.
yes, the GOP lied. they lied bigly. they are on the conservative radar to be ousted by primary contenders. watch.

can't make this shit up.

I guess Bannon gave the Oranguton the word last night in his daily directive that he was not supposed to support the bipartisan deal

The government is paying this one way or another.

Rates go up 41% your advanced premium tax credit goes up. But it hurts everyone else

Cost-share reductions are left in the govt is paying but the rates do not go up, therefore, the advanced premium tax credit doesn't go up. It does not hurt everyone else.

There is definitely something wrong with our Senate.

WTF are you talking about? Never was a $16,000 deductibles under ACA.

Why? Do you think people will like their shitty bills if they get a new spokesman to pitch it to the public in order to get it more than 12% support? Lmao!

No one wants to repeal Obamacare. You want people that's going to promise fantastic things that you KNOW can't be done. With the whole purpose being just to say fantastic crazy things not if they are actually popular.

Here's the three easy ways to fix ObamaCare

1) Allow the exchanges to operate over state lines.
2) Allow a Medicare Buy-In for people over 55
3) Establish a public option for people the insurance companies don't want to cover because they are too poor or too sick.

The problem is that it ain't easy.

Many Say High Deductibles Make Their Health Law Insurance All but Useless
