Looks like the boiking's speech didn't work out so well after all.

Tens of thousands of conservative protesters crowded outside the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, a massive demonstration aimed at stopping what organizers called the over-expansion of the federal government under the Obama administration.

"Hell hath no fury like a taxpayer scorned," declared Andrew Moylan, head of government affairs for the National Taxpayer Union, urging protesters to call their representatives. "You're being ignored today by the media and some politicians."

Catch 22 - the strategy of brainless libs. The lib media won't pay attention to it unless there is whacked out violence and rhetoric. If there is, then the liberal media says they are whack jobs.

In the spirit of the current tone of the board, the media is just a circle wank.

Looks like people do not care for the Midwest mobsters running the White House.

Who just happen to be carrying banners, signs and chanting protests.

Do people believe protests work?

I don't think they worked when they protested during Bush's tenure.

Whether you liked Bush's policies or not, the Bush WH exercised real leadership within the Republican Party, but the Obama WH does not have that kind of clout among Democrats in Congress, so the demonstrations are aimed at telling members of Congress that their constituents - demonstrations are occurring in state capitols and other cities as well as in Washington - are watching how they vote on Obama's/Dem's big spending bills. The town hall meetings did not change how the Dem leadership behaved, but it did sway a lot of moderate members of Congress, and these demonstrations, if they can be continued, may have the same effect.

Do you believe that the anti-war protests of the 60s and 70s effected the war effort, i.e. it caused America to withdraw?

Jill dear heart, you are on the wrong side of history here.

I saw this several years ago, and the GoP & Chimp gave the same 'what, me worry?' kind of comments.

What happened to them again?

And Obama was in Minneapolis firing up the masses. It'll be a fight to the finish and in the end, we'll get healthcare.

I didn't watch the DC thing but more power to the protesters.

And yet recent polls show they represent only 38% of Americans.

In spite of right wing fear mongering....the tide has turned

Healthcare will pass

'Heathcare' was DOA and all the attempts to claim 'the tide has turned' are as laughable as Barry's speech was the other night.
