hmmmmmm..seems that many cities in Canada are experiencing an increase in gun violence...Tooronto is the focus of this article....

Gun violence 'a problem for the whole city,' says Rexdale pastor after pregnant woman shot

Gun violence is up 200%.....

Toronto sees 200% spike in fatal shootings so far this year

Fatal shootings in Toronto have increased 200 per cent in the first four months of this year as compared to the same time last year, police statistics reveal.

------

"It's a considerable increase in homicides," Staff Inspector Greg McLane of Toronto Police's homicide squad said Tuesday.

"It's hard to say whether there are more guns out there, but I'm of the belief that more people are carrying their guns. I ask myself this question: why do street gang and criminal lifestyle people feel they can walk around in communities in the city without fear of being stopped by police?"

McLane said he thinks people previously stored their guns for easy access, including in such unlikely places as trees and diaper bags, but now they are more likely to keep them on their persons.

He said if people start carrying their guns, then it means other people have to start carrying their firearms.

Now..we are told that Canada is a gun control paradise.........so how do they have an increase of any kind in gun homicide?

But....you can tell the Canadian police are pretty sharp.....

He acknowledged that many shootings in the city could involve street gangs and people who have criminal lifestyles.

I wonder what his first clue was? Since normal, law abiding people don't use guns for murder or crime.......

Did you ever consider that with the ease you can buy guns here in America, and all the restrictions that are in Canada, that eventually gun runners would start smuggling them up there from here?

Having restrictive gun laws, but with a border with another place that doesn't results in guns being taken from where they are easy to buy to where it is hard to buy them, resulting in a black market.

Doesn't matter...they have strict gun control laws up there...we are told that gun control works....that is why we need more of it........and that way of thinking is stupid. Chicago blames Indiana....because Chicago has the same gun control laws as L.A. and New York.....but they claim guns come from Indiana..but L.A. and New York have lower gun crime rates than Chicago...

So.....they want us to believe that New York criminals can't travel in cars to buy guns? That L.A. criminals can't travel in cars to buy guns?

Guns are not the issue....it is thug culture....most of the U.S. is law abiding...our crime is confined primarily to tiny areas in our inner cities....the rest of the country uses guns responsibly....

Chicago has 3 million people....the Police Superintendant said last week that they know 1,300 criminals who are responsible either for the shootings or are the main victims of the shootings....our of 3 million people....it isn't guns...it is thug culture.

The OP gets off every time there's a shooting outside the US.

What is it with gun grabbers....you can't bring up a story about guns without you guys talking about sex.....you guys really, really need to get some therapy....

And here we have the problem....just like in the states...they are under funding the police...

Police Association ads warn of growing 'gun problem' in Toronto - CityNews

“The safest city in North America has a gun violence problem,” the letter states. “Compared to a year ago, shootings have increased 61 per cent. Shooting deaths have increased 217 per cent. And typically gun violence only gets worse in the summer,” he warned.

The surge of violence comes, McCormack notes, in the face of budgetary restraints and pressure from politicians and community groups to rein in police spending.

Fifty per cent of shootings in Jamestown are street gang related, he noted, adding that he had no new information on the probe into her death.
