If any jurisdiction were to enact a measure authorizing the ‘confiscation’ of firearms – which of course would never happen – such a measure would be immediately challenged in Federal court, enjoined, and subsequently struck down as un-Constitutional: a violation of the Second, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments to the Constitution.

It has happened. It happened in NJ after they required Assault Weapon registration, it happened in New Orleans when the cops went door to door, it's happened every time licenses and registration is required. It just doesn't happen all at once.
