According to that link, 61% said that illegal aliens should be allowed to stay and apply for citizenship. Another 12% said they should be allowed to stay and not apply for citizenship. Either of those fall under what Amnesty means.

Sorry, but slight changes in the wording of a poll question can produce large differences in the result. Everyone has their own idea about what the phrase "path to citizenship." That allows a lot of wiggle room. No one would be against ever allowing any illegal alien to become a citizen. That sounds a lot harsher than merely saying you oppose blanket amnesty for all of them.

The two polls are not equivalent.
