For the first time, I'm all for bringing this old English treason penalty back. I detest today's traitors so much that there is no amount of suffering that a treasonous, disloyal sellout can experience that will seriously bother me.
For those than don't know, a hang/draw/quarter was a series of tortures in which 1.) The victim is hanged almost to death and revived multiple times. 2.) The victim is then strapped to a table with a bonfire next to it. The executioner then uses a glowing hot knife (to cauterize as it cuts) to slice off the victim's penis and then slice open his midsection - to start piling his intestines into the bonfire while still alive. And 3.) Then off with the head and the body chopped into 4 pieces.....although I'm unclear if the severed head counts as one of the four pieces (quartering).
