This is why people hate cops

It takes more than a blue uniform to make a good policeman, first of all it takes a real man

Say what?!

Well that's another issue and another topic that I'll get into sometime but its women serving in a public office where they have no business being because just being there endangers public safety.
Harry would probably agree with you.

If you remember, at the end of that film, 'The Enforcer', Dirty Harry's life was saved by his female partner. Who lost her own life in the process.

Call me old fashioned but when push comes to shove, men are men and women are female. Given equal circumstances most male cops would rather have a man next to them in a combat situation if they dared tell the truth without fear of being prosecuted.

Policing isn't combat. Even when force is used, it's proportional force. In combat, a soldier is suppose to go berserker, inflict maximum casualties on the enemy. A policeman in a use of force situation is required to keep his calm, assess, and apply proportional force when necessary.

When I'm in a situation, it's the mind of the person next to me that counts most, not his or her biceps.

That being said, I've seen more than a couple female officers lay someone out when the situation demanded it.

I work with female cops every day. They make up almost a third of my division. They are some of the best operators I've ever worked with.

Policing isn't about being a tough guy ... policing is about communications. Use of force is what happens when communications breaks down.

I recall being a young guy, a kid really, and I worked at the local supermarket. This placed was packed on Saturdays, these cops walked the grounds and also directed traffic.

There was an older cop, who often paired with a younger one. The differences between them were striking. Anyways, the older cop would call me aside to hang out with him when he went for a smoke (back when it was more standard for cops to take smoke breaks). I'd chat with him on the side of the store.

He shared a lot of stories and we got along fairly well. One day, he says to me, "you see that guy over there (the younger cop)? "Yeah". "He's not going to make retirement". I was puzzled, and didn't want to pry as he was an authority figure.

He went on, "in my 30 years as an officer, do you know how many times I've pulled my gun"? "No" I answered. "Not once. The reason is, I'm much better with my mouth than my weapon". He then went on to point at this cop who was literally barking orders at people, some of it warranted I suppose as people get crazy in the heat and their parking skills are horrendous. I did notice though he would yell at people often, a power tripper of sorts, he enjoyed it.

Anyways, he tells me "that guy is too wound up, too tense, he's escalating interactions with people all the time. You don't want to do that when you're a police officer because it puts everyone in more danger, you calm the situation.

He used to tell me some great stories. Some of it went above my head, but he did work in Chicago and even in the 80's he explained how rough it was, but he did well. I sometimes wonder how his life went, he imparted some good information on an impressionable kid.

Yanno, that sounds a lot like the pair who pulled guns on me for no reason. They both pulled the guns, but it was the younger one who kept mouthing off going "WHAT THE FUCK YOU DOING WALKING AROUND WITHOUT ID" and "WE'RE TRYING TO SOLVE A FUCKING HOMICIDE IS THAT ALRIGHT WITH YOU??" when I inquired as to what was going on. Much like the pair on the old "Adam-12" TV series, the older cooler head paired with a hothead.

the only people that hate cops are jackass criminals or those who love criminals

it's not 5 or 10 cops doing it ALL together --like these jackass kids--SIXTY!!
INCREDIBLE - yes, VIOLENT flash mobs = blacks
your OP is pure crap---no evidence to back it up

If you'd ever ventured out of your mother's basement you might know by now that this kind of shit goes on all the time and has been for --- at least as long as I can remember.

Don't be naíve.

Tell that to the 250 people who were falsely accused. God only knows how many were falsely accused AND CONVICTED.
No doubt many 1000s were convicted.

What do you tell the people protected by the 90+% of cops that were not corrupt? Do you tell them there should be no cops? Do you tell them to give up their guns and pray?

What is your alternative to having cops?

''no reason''' hahahahhahahahahahhaha

This guy ruined people's lives by PLANTING drugs in their cars during traffic stops. One guy lost custody of his daughter.

Florida Sheriff Deputy Arrested After Planting Drugs on Innocent People

250 cases were dropped by the DA once investigations into this guy were started.

I dont hate cops but the primary reason they dont have my respect is because they simply refuse to police their own and choose to close ranks instead. It takes more than a blue uniform to make a good policeman, first of all it takes a real man and not a wuss.

-------------------------------------- cops are fine but sure are different than cops from the 60s and 70s when I really took notice of them as a 16 year old to maybe my mid thirties . At that time they were fine but nowadays they are more like Military .

sure it does --ALL the time--in your mind
I've never had a problem with cops--never committed a crime

Nobody ever said cops are perfect. They are human beings.

That said, the only people that hate cops want to talk the guns away from everyone except cops.. IOW.. They're stupid.

Ok, planting drugs on 250 innocent people is not "imperfection." ITS FUCKING CRIMINAL.

The stigma that goes along with being arrested is almost as bad as the arrest itself; even more so when it’s a bogus charge to start with.

People that hate cops usually do so because cops have caught them or someone they know doing something wrong.

No one likes being told what to do. No one likes being pulled over for speeding or having their tail lights out. No one likes being told they can't smoke here or litter there.

Cops (most of them anyway) take no pleasure in reminding people they must comply with the law.

No one likes the fact that it takes the police an hour (or more) to get to their house when their neighbors music is too loud or their car has been blocked.

It's inconceivable to them that police might be dealing with something a bit more urgent than the loud music next door.

I'm not surprised that people don't like to interact with police. Police have a job that most people think is necessary when it comes to other people, but not to them.

Considering black males are far more violent than white males

Really?

That there is a herd of fellas with wicked bad hair.

Anyway, they were just misunderstood or something.

The same assholes outside the prisons moping and carrying on at their executions are the same kind that get aggressively screechy when the right to butcher a child is brought up.

...most people do not like to be told they are doing/did wrong--when they did in fact do wrong
...when people screw up at work/etc, they '''naturally'' try to rationalize it wasn't their fault--or at least they are not entirely at fault
....yes, people who get stopped for speeding/etc get pissed--mad--even though they are doing wrong

Okay fair enough. Nothing happens for no reason.

They jumped me because I was the only one around. It was late at night and they needed a victim. I was available.

Happy now? I sure was.
