This explains our current parties pretty well

BTW how do you have a demand for something that hasn't been invented, built, or made aware to you in some way?

A need.

You see successful buinesses who creat a NEW product to fill a consumer need do succede.

Many have tried and failed to fill a need and not really filled it.

The consumer is the ONLY way real products survive.

Wingnuts don't understand business

Are you trying to say TM is wrong and doesn't understand?

You CAN NOT create demand in the public for something they have NO interest in.

If you market something well that is NOT the same as making people buy something they have no interest in.

You can tell them why they should want it but you CAN NOT make them want something they have no interest in.

They have to have an interst in something about the product.

You can explain WHY they may be interested but you can NOT force them to be interested.

There are failed ideas like this all the time in the market place, they just fail before you evern hear about them.

DEMAND runs the market and to pretend ANYTHING else runs the market is propaganda

says the woman who speaks of brainwashed conservatives. You crack me up TM.

You dont create a percieved need.

You create a product that people are willing to buy.

YOu can NOT create a percieved need for something NO one wants for any reason.

Your lack of understanding of consumer tendencies and trends explains much.

People spend more money on things they THINK they need than they do on things they really need.

Why are you being so thick?

I jsut showed you 65% of products fail.

Why did they not make it?

because they did not fill a need (percieved or real) for enough consumers.

Their demand could not susstain their profitability.

They didnt fail because the company did not hire enough people they failed because the demand was NOT THERE.

When you pretend that supply is the driver you ignore where the profit comes from.

If you can't convince someone to buy your product or service you have failed at marketing.

Everyone needs food. Why are some more successful at it ?

If you have presented a product to the market that has no consumer interest you have failed at product seletion.

If you failed to market a Marketable product then you have failed at marketing.

No amount of marketing will sell a product that there is little or no consumer interest in.

Exactly.
Debate over.

not all products are food.

You can not sell something with good marketing if there is no consumer for it.

I guess you people think all of the 65% of products fail ONLY because they were marketed incorrectly?

Why did New Coke fail?

OK dilly then why do 65% of products fail?

What you people are now arguing against is the entire field of market reseach.

Even with extensive MR products still fail.

You can not create a market for a product the consumer has no interst in buying.

LOL! The only way that supply side ever worked was Reagan set up a fallacy economy with the credit card to entice people to spend and buy what they didn't need with money they didn't have. The card created a false demand and got more people working. Now days the credit card would need more than a product to buy to entice a shopper. Perhaps you supply siders could take a cut in profit and sell your Chinese junk on 2 for 1 credit card sales.

R and D does not coincide with what people are willing to pay
Knock offs take over the demand
Poor marketing and advertising
Poor branding (part of marketing)
Poor business management
Increase in international competition
Errors in accounting and fiscal planning
Corruption...

Just to name a few
