The Wrath of Michelle O Strikes Again

I couldn't get more than halfway through the op without my conscience beating me over the head with a frying pan for wasting time on this gossipy irrelevance.

like the article said.....this just shows the inner workings of the White House.....and how close we are to being a banana republic.....

With Michelle being catty to another female that works there?

I bet that's not the first instance of a first lady overexerting her influence on staff for some fairly irrational reasons. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

she's just one example....there are several others who are not invited either.....this is how banana republics operate....

Valerie Jarrett is called the "Buzzsaw" of the White House for good reason....

I think you read into this kind of thing too much, just my opinion. :dunno:

Michelle Obama and Principal Skinner were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby smiled at me!

you really think he'd hit that? I mean someone who eats so healthy she looks like a linebacker, want some hot sauce with them wings, Moochelle.

I don't see it, she was on the Daily Show about a month ago and she's in relatively good shape.

Don't let so much obvious hate through, it looks obvious.

First you said relatively, a qualifer, so is she in good shape or not? ANd hey if I could workout whenever I wanted and didnt have to do stuff, except shop on 5th Ave all the time, I'd be in great shape, but she likes the food she doesnt want you to have...ergo...she's a hypocrite. Pass those fries will ya?

For those that don't know Michelle fired Desiree Rogers, her social secretary, after she posed in designer clothes and jewellery for Vogue.

Ok I'll make fun of that, but why is that a firable offense? Again outshinning Michelle?

This actually comes from a very unflattering book about Carla. And the comment about Mrs. Obama is actually a compliment from the author because the author believed at that time that the Obama's really didn't believe in the glitz and glamour that Carla and Nicholas exude.

Obviously written before Michelle's "coming out" as a fashionista. :D

Here ya go. And btw, that photo is not photo shopped where M. O. is glaring daggers at Carla. That picture was taken at the 65th remembrance of D Day.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Michelle Obama at odds, book claims

Rivalry between Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Michelle Obama has led to strained relations between the US and French presidential couples, a new biography of the French first lady has claimed.

Written by investigative journalist Besma Lahouri, it describes Mrs Obama as "the only one in (Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy's) eyes able to dispute the title of the planet's sexiest and most glamorous first lady".

But the US first lady, it says, "does not appreciate the star system  and is not keen to be associated with the sulphurous French first lady," citing Mrs Obama's decision to spend her free time at the G8 in Aquila in July last year with Sarah Brown.

"Nicolas (Sarkozy's) bling-bling and Carla's tumultuous former (love) life don't make the Sarkozy couple very good company in the Obamas' eyes", according to the book, which claims that the US first couple had long tried to steer clear of their French counterparts.

While the US first lady had thrown herself into fighting obesity in the US, the image-obsessed Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy's charitable works were described in the book as "largely an empty shell" and her lack of warmth made her an "anti-Diana".

The two ladies' approach to glitz was worlds apart too.

While Mrs Obama fired Desiree Rogers, her social secretary, after she posed in designer clothes and jewellery for Vogue, Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy had no qualms telling Le Figaro the best way to relax was to fly off to a private island in Bora Bora for €20,000 a week.

See what I mean? The author is praising Mrs. O. for being oh just so down to earth. :eusa_whistle:

The coming weekend will be a painful one for Desiree Rogers, the beautiful former White House Social Secretary who discovered that outshining Michelle Obama is a very, very bad idea.
...
The president is going.

The first lady is going.

First daughters Sasha and Malia will be there.

But Desiree Rogers, the first African-American to become the White House Social Secretary, has been dissed.

Translation: Rogers has not been invited to the backyard Kenwood wedding this weekend for the daughter of the ultimate White House insider/Rogers' former "closer-than-glue" best friend, White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett.

For those who do not follow the ins-and-outs of Versailles-on-the-Potomac, Valerie Jarrett is widely regarded as THE most powerful White House advisor of all. Former Obama chiefs of staff Rahm Emanuel and Bill Daley crossed her, and both are back in Chicago. Incidentally, they aren't invited to the wedding either.

Sneed explains the depth of the diss:

...

Does this all matter? Is it merely catty, trivial, gossipy trash unworthy of a serious political website? In a more serious administration, where cabinet secretaries actually met with the president more than once or twice and exercised substantive responsibilities instead of "czars" personally beholden to the first family, where well defined roles and responsibilities marked the White House bureaucracy, and where the first lady confined her role to symbolic activities and advocacy, the answer would be yes.

But the Obama White House is a different sort of animal entirely. Like a decadent monarchy, the favor of the potentate and the potentate's wife count for much too much in the Obama administration, and the social life, celebrity, and glamour of life at the top seem to eat up far more time than convening cabinet meetings.

We are reduced to reading tea leaves in the social calendar to understand the power dynamics of our national leadership. Another sign of an incipient banana republic.

Michelle and Carla. The face says it all. :D

Relatively, meaning yes, she's in good shape. She doesn't have the body of a supermodel, but for a middle aged woman with two kids, yeah, she looks pretty good. I'm glad you can admit as much halfway through your post.

You completely misconstrue, like you do about her appearance, her advice on not eating fast-food regularly to the point that it's as if you're trying to argue that McDonald's is good for you or something. When you look at health-care costs rising with the diabetes and obesity rates, it makes me wonder how partisan you have to be to argue against encouragement to eat healthier.

You can still eat fast-food all you want.

Michelle Obama and Principal Skinner were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby smiled at me!

Don't know if he would, but I sure as fuck would. She's hot eight ways from Sunday, definitely the best looking First Lady since Jackie O, and a damn sight better than ANY Republican First Lady...ever. I mean, as much as I'd love to give Barbara Bush a motorboat and all.

Sad that your blind partisanship can't even allow you to see the gorgeousness that is Mrs. Obama.

Hey I'd let Laura Bush be my librarian. And Nancy Reagan back in the day, I would teabag that! Sorry Barbara was old, but still better looking than LBJ's wife and daughter. and Elanor Roosevelt, HOOOOOOT. I'd take Barabara NOW over Elanor at 20, you cant get rid of ugly! Michelle is younger which gives her an advantage, but Id still take any of the republicans at the same age, NO DOUBT. All this still doesnt excuse her hypocrisy.

Lets look at kids, Amy Carter, Chelsea Clinton, Lind Bird Johnson, wooohooo some lookers bro, maybe for a women's studies professor.

The part in bold...you'll have to help me as I don't obsess over her in the least so I'm not sure, but did she actually say that you should never eat fast food? Like never ever?

:dunno:

Pretty much, yeah. She wants bans and taxes on the good stuff. And she eats it like there's no tommorrow.

What taxes has she lobbied for?
no she does not, that is not her agenda at all.

Why do you say she eats it like no tomorrow? She doesn't look like she does.

I'd guess they probably eat quite healthy at home, because they certainly can afford it...in reality the whole family looks quite healthy.

Maybe they know what they're talking about.
