The "War" against Christmas

The war on Christmas will soon be replaced by the war on Valentine's Day, the war on Mother's Day, Father's Day, the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Halloween, Colombus Day and any other day.

The only two holidays that liberals like is New Years and Cino De Mayo because they are heavy drinking days.

You forgot St. Patrick's Day!

Religious carols reinstated for charter school concert

Bob Kellogg
Monday, December 02, 2013

"Joy to the World" and "O Come All Ye Faithful" will be heard during a Christmas performance now that a South Carolina school has lifted a ban on religious music.

Officials at York Preparatory Academy in Rock Hill abruptly dropped their ban on Christmas music after Alliance Defending Freedom set them straight on their constitutional rights. ADF attorney Jeremy Tedesco says most schools have an overwhelming fear of being taken to court.

"At public schools, it's entirely constitutional to include religious Christmas carols in school programs," he tells OneNewsNow. "We informed York Preparatory Academy about that as soon as we heard about the situation with their band being told they couldn't even play religious Christmas carols without the words."

Parents concerned about the ban had contacted ADF, which then intervened with a letter to school officials.

The Santa Monica Nativity Scene Case: Why We Lost

By William J. Becker, Jr
11/21/12

---

When Tuesday (11/19/2012), United States District Court Judge Audrey B Collins delivered a 28-page ruling denying my client the right to continue a 59-year-old tradition of exhibiting Nativity scenes along Ocean Boulevard in the City of Santa Monica this Christmas season, another dagger plunged into the heart of America's twilight customs and traditions. The sneered-at "war on Christmas" was effectively lost for good.

I say this even though the case has neither been dismissed (at least not yet) nor declared dead after appeals. Indeed, a hearing on the City of Santa Monica's motion to dismiss our lawsuit is set for December 3, 2012. As lead counsel for the Santa Monica Nativity Scenes Committee, a nonprofit made up of local churches and the police union, it is not my intention to surrender the cause. But the legal theories we presented to support the preservation of the Nativity tradition in Santa Monica and which the court rejected in their entirety are the identical legal theories advanced in opposition to the City's motion to dismiss. Unlike Karl Rove or Allen West, I lack the cheery optimism (or delusional hope) the trend will somehow magically reverse course, carrying us safely back to dock in the port of redemption. I fancy myself an able advocate, not a miracle worker.

Christianity, white men, heterosexuality, meritocracy, Christmas. These are the relics of a distant culture. Let's not kid ourselves. They have been tipping into the abyss for some time. Only now -- plunging as we are with increasing velocity -- do the tremors of our nation's mortality begin to beat their throbbing rhythms insistently.

---

Traditions like the Nativity displays in Palisades Park, religious tolerance and common sense can always look to tomorrow. But, I fear, in my naïve way, not before the gravitational pull of society's regressive "progressive" movement has tired of battle. The secular progressives now have blood on their hands.

So… You're saying conservative are light weight pussies when it comes to drinking??

Do you think Jesus got less gifts because his birthday happened to fall on Christmas? That sucks for him. I mean, you have to figure people just gave him one gift and not two. He must have had a miserable childhood.

I feel bad for people like Jesus. My birthday is at the end of June. I get presents every six months.

It's a Wonderful Life.

Except Jesus wasn't born in December...shepherds don't tend their flocks in December.

Shoosh. You're interfering with my banter.

They would do it for baby Jesus

Do liberals really think that entire flocks of sheep and goats just disappear every winter?

Why is this piece of shit post even on the political section.
Most of these so called "christian's" would not make a pimple on the ass of a true believer.
In fact, that is what most of them really are. Asses.
They follow someone like rushie who vilifies the Pope.
Enough said.

Yeah, Jesus got a raw deal, present wise, seeing as how his birthday was on Christmas Day. I heard that he threw quite a fit about it, and Mary gave him a time out.
