The Wall.

The wall is pointless and will serve as nothing more than a symbol of the ugliness that has consumed many frightened Americans.
As always....TheOldFool favors propaganda over reality. I have never been a proponent of the wall (I've always felt that the money would be better spent on technology and people as a means of securing our borders). But after seeing this, it's hard to argue with the results. Like the person in this video says - idiots like TheOldFool favor symbolism over substance.

Quite likely the fact that so many illegal aliens are "visa overstayers" rather than "walkers across the Southern border."
Let's see.

According to most estimates, there are anywhere between 10 million and 20 million illegal aliens in the country.

From Xelor's reports posted here, approx. 500,000 of those entered legally, and then overstayed their visas.

This means that only 2.5% to 5% of the illegal aliens in the country, overstayed their visas. 95% or more, walked across the border illegally.

Now in this post, Xelor doesn't mention an exact number. But he's trying as hard as he can to sound like at least half the illegal aliens, are overstayers.

Another of the usual attempts to pretend illegal border-crossers aren't really the problem... when they clearly are. The overstayers are part of the problem too, but only a minor part by comparison.

The Wall will do a huge amount to cut down on the number of illegal aliens coming into the country.... and that is by far the major problem. The wall will definitely be worth the money. How much will we save on free education for those who pay very few taxes, medical care for those who go to emergency rooms for every affliction, and the law enforcement resources currently spent on finding the illegal aliens, arresting them, processing, feeding, and eventually deporting them... only to have them show up in the United States again less than a week later?

Rered read the linked sources and check the context proffered in the articles from which I obtained the ~500K figure -- that's part of why those links/source attributions are provided...so readers can confirm for themselves just what context the data is presented. It's an annual sum, not a one-time or total sum. Look at the DHS reports from prior years and you'll find the DHS tallies that metric each year.
