There are agents in the US side of the border who are accepting applications for asylum and one by one those applying for asylum are allowed to enter the US for the purpose of applying, but then they must choose to go to one of the camps in the US to await the outcome of their application or can return to Mexico to await an answer. As we know, and as they should know, nearly all these requests will be refused at least twice, so what is going on now really has only propaganda value. In fact, many of the migrants are starting to realize they have been victims of political activists and are asking the Mexican government to help them return to their home countries.
