The Top Three Reasons Why Liberals Hate Conservatives

The OP seems to cover almost all the reasons Republicans are hated

But rather than trying to mitigate the damage, they just deny that it is true. More Republicans living in a fantasy bubble where everyone loves them

It appears your reply is verification of the authors beliefs.

The authors beliefs are to just deny it is true. But the proof is in the pudding

Republicans are not a party of the rich? Show where Republicans have supported legislation to help the poor or working Americans. Show us a single piece of Republican legislation that harms the wealthy in any way

Republicans are not a white male party? Explain how they have only elected six blacks to higher office in the last 100 years. Show how they have elected significant numbers of women to Congress. Show us the percent of Republicans who are minorities

Republicans are not in the pocket of big oil? Explain why oil executives wrote the Bush energy policy. Explain why Republicans defended BP after the oil spill. Show where Republicans have supported alternative energy at the expense of big oil

The OP has stats that show that conservatives are every bit as supportive to the poor. As for your other claims, the GOP is more diverse than the Dems.

and they certainly are no more "in the pocket" of the rich than any Democrat.

Once again, Republicans reply with a "See...we have minorities too" defense

Until Republicans can show across the board representation by minorities at all levels of government, they cannot shake the reputation as a white mans party. If they increase from six blacks elected to higher office in the last one hundred years to seven elected blacks, they have not shaken the reputation. Republicans are 90% white. Until they attract more minorities, they remain a white mans party

I recently went to a quilting convention with my wife. Huge. Thousands of women there. Maybe a couple of dozen men.

Are quilting folks anti male? Or, is correlation causation?

Mark

My wife quilts also

But that does not excuse the horrific record that Republicans have in electing minorities and women. One or two "See, we have minorities too" candidates does not excuse their record

45% of women voted Republican in the last election
27% of Hispanics
10% of Blacks
0% of Gays

Republicans can not just brush those numbers away and blame the electorate for not voting for them. Sooner or later, you will be forced to accept reality and start addressing why these groups are turning away from Republicans

This thread doesn't disappoint

. In 2008, a survey was done that showed similar numbers of Republicans (5.7) and Democrats (6.8) would not vote for a black presidential candidate....Democrats were slightly (1.1%) more likely to show racist thinking than Republicans

That's gonna leave a mark

Ummm....it seems the 2008 election proved that survey wrong

No such thing

Would somebody do an old man a solid here, and remind me whether it is conservatives who are the Cowboys and Liberals the Indians, or is it the other way around?

I'm going out hat shopping later today and need to know so I can avoid an embarrassing situation.

Make that Conservatives are Cowboys and Liberals are Native Americans

Democrats Racially Diverse Republicans Mostly White

PRINCETON, NJ -- Non-Hispanic whites accounted for 89% of Republican self-identifiers nationwide in 2012, while accounting for 70% of independents and 60% of Democrats. Over one-fifth of Democrats (22%) were black, while 16% of independents were Hispanic.

These results are based on more than 338,000 interviews conducted as part of Gallup Daily tracking in 2012, and clearly underscore the distinct racial profiles of partisan groups in today's political landscape.
  • Republicans are overwhelmingly non-Hispanic white, at a level that is significantly higher than the self-identified white percentage of the national adult population. Just 2% of Republicans are black, and 6% are Hispanic.
  • Seventy percent of Americans who identify as independents are white, but independents have the highest representation of Hispanics (16%) of the three groups. Eight percent of independents are blacks.
  • Democrats remain a majority white party, but four in 10 Democrats are something other than non-Hispanic white. More than one in five Democrats are black, roughly twice the black representation in the adult population.
Racial and Ethnic Groups Gravitate Toward Different Parties
Looked at differently, these party composition patterns reflect major differences in the way Americans in various racial and ethnic groups identify their political affiliation.
  • Almost two-thirds of blacks identify as Democrats, with most of the rest identifying as independents. Only 5% of blacks nationwide identify as Republicans.
  • Half of Hispanics identify as independents, although the majority of the rest identify as Democrats. This is despite their high level of approval and strong majority voting support for Democratic President Barack Obama. Relatively few Hispanics (13%) identify as Republicans.
  • Whites are the most politically diverse of the three major racial and ethnic segments, with between 26% and 38% identifying with one of the three partisan groups. Whites tilt slightly toward being independents or Republicans rather than Democrats. The large white concentration of Republican identifiers, in short, is caused by a dearth of nonwhites self-identifying with the GOP, rather than a monolithic Republican orientation among whites.

Although Asians and other races make up a small proportion of the U.S. population, the data show that the political pattern they follow is quite similar to that of Hispanics: they are most likely to identify as independents, second-most likely to identify as Democrats, and least likely to identify as Republicans.
Racial Breakdown of Independents and Democrats Has Shifted Most Since 2008
The racial and ethnic composition of the Republican Party today is similar to what it was in 2008, the year when Gallup began its daily tracking. There have been essentially no changes in the percentage of GOP identifiers who are white, black, and Hispanic.
Independents have become more Hispanic since 2008 (and slightly more black), while Democrats have become more black and more Hispanic. Phrased differently, the independent and Democratic segments of the U.S. population are now less white than they were in 2008, reflecting the uptick in the U.S. nonwhite population over these five years.

Couldn't have asked for a better example of republican hate than this one:

I openly and proudly hate liberals. They lie. They bare false witness. They foment racial division. They foment gender division. They foment class envy. They undermine our Constitution, laws, and elections. I wasn't born hating liberals I learned to hate them.

Make that Conservatives are Cowboys and Liberals are Native Americans

But I thought it was conservatives are cowboys and liberals blood thirsty savages?

Or is it conservatives are imperialist European invaders and Indians brave indeginies?

Damn, it's so hard to keep this stuff straight sometimes.

Conservative hate can't you libs get anything right.

“Conservatives believe what they see; liberals see what they believe.”
Is that why conservatives were "un-skewing" polls 2 years ago?

What?

Unskewed Pollster Dean Chambers Nate Silver Was Right - Business Insider

Were you alive and paying attention to politics in 2012? Republicans loved this guy because they couldn't believe Obama was going to win.

And? What they saw led them to believe in their statistics. Everyone can be wrong.

Mark
Except that wasn't what happened. What happened was that they didn't like what they saw so they fabricated this whole, convoluted conspiracy around the data, and manipulated the interpretation of that data so that it said what they wanted it to. then when everyone told them they were wrong, they just insisted that everyone else were just "in on the conspiracy", and were trying to "psych out" the good, America-Loving conservatives out there!

I'm reminded of something I heard someone say once: You have a constitutional right to express any opinion you like. However, I also have the constitutional right to think you are a fucking idiot.

Anyone that has spent some time on a political forum knows that there is a lot of hate and insults being thrown around regardless of one's political leanings.

I am not sure either party really represents the majority of Americans. Their only concern is getting elected and feathering their own nests.

The data simply does not support that claim.

Democrats were killing the Republicans in 2012 with "Republicans are the party of the rich"
What does Romney do? He comes out with his 47% quote

Republicans don't want to be labeled as the party of the rich? Come out with some proposals that actually help the poor and working class without benefitting the wealthy
