I have a hideously rotten cold and am stuck at home.

So, I decided to watch a Classic Mini-Series from Encore On Demand...The Thornbirds.

The things that strike me in my fugue of coughing and sneezing:

Father Ralph and Mary Carson are both Irish, and yet have American accents. Mary's brother, however, has an Irish accent, as does his wife's son, Frank, who is from New Zealand. Meggie, who was born in New Zealand and is growing up in Australia has an American accent. Her mother, Fi, who was born in New Zealand has a British accent.

Did the producers really think nobody would notice?

SRSLY?

More:

Meggie suddenly has a British accent upon growing up.

Mary Carson's corpse is definitely breathing when Father Ralph is placing coins on her eyes.

And Father Ralph's dancing the Black Bottom is nearly as ghey as Richard Chamberlain's outrage over the suggestion that he might prefer boys in Shogun...nearly, but not quite.

What a freakin' soap opera.

Watching Richard Chamberlain kiss Rachel Ward is So Painful.
