The shameful right wing spinning of the Charleston shooting has begun

Shame on you, Rick Santorum, for trying to imply this is about “religious liberty” and not about racism.

Shame on you, Brian Kilmeade, for trying to confuse the issue and pretend that there’s any doubt about what happened here.

Shame on Fox & Friends to try to exploit this incident to help gun manufacturers sell more guns.

Also, shame on Fox & Friends for trying to spin this as an attack on Christians for being Christians, as if it had nothing to do with race.

Man, before the week is out, it appears that the official right wing narrative on this will be that it was an attack on “faith” and the response needs to be to sell more guns and take away more birth control pills. For shame.
One man says something and you libs brand the whole right wing with it. What a simpleton way of thinking.

Again, it's not just one man.

Don't be obtuse.

Regardless of your political affiliation, the response by the community is extremely uplifting. Cities continue to have riots over these occurrences and when that church disowned the "black lives matter" movement that has brought chaos across the country and instead proclaimed that all lives matter we saw pwople come together in support rather than burning down the city. Racist lunatics like Al Sharpton are every bit as guilty as Dillon Roof in these situations. And as a side note, you mention guns as if they were the problem, but don't you think you would like to be armed if one of these idiots was around you and started to open fire

You can have a gun-free zone, and then have security guards or certain designated
personnel who are trained to handle firearms handle firearms for security.
You CAN, but then it isn't a gun free zone.

Aren't police are allowed to bring their guns into a gun free zone?

Not anyone can, but just Authorized Security Guards and designated personnel who
are specifically assigned to help with security.

You can still keep it gun free for everyone else.
So it still follows the spirit and purpose of having a gun free zone.

Hi hazlnut
Still, when Ben Carson and many others on the right are acknowledging the racial issues,
why insist on harping on false points made that discredit and divide.

Sure, there can be 100 or 100,000 of these hard core extremists spouting off more problems,
and only 1 who is saying the right thing. Why not support the 1 who is right and
stand on that point to CORRECT the 100,000 who are wrong.

If you have 100,000 scientists who are wrong, and 1 Einstein going against the grain who is right,
are you going to waste your time harping on the bad science pushed by the rest of the crowd?

Wouldn't you focus on the 1 with the right approach, and use that to correct the wrong responses. Even if that person is in the minority, if those are the right answers that's what matters.

Why are we out to make each other wrong and fail?
Why aren't we in the business of pulling together and reinforcing points we AGREE are the right solution? Wouldn't that do more good to organize and pull us in the right direction? And correct the misguided conflicts at the same time?

Christmas is made-up holiday based on pagan traditions.

Easter too.

Which is very fitting, hazlnut
since the Resurrection of Christ represents spiritual rebirth that is universal to all humanity
and should very well be represented in every culture, religion and history
that is used to symbolize the stages of human development over time.

All these things represent life and humanity's growth in stages.
God and Nature are one, so it makes sense that anything in life
is going to reconcile and follow parallel patterns. There is no conflict there.

After checking out the interview, I have to agree that Santorum's comments are wrong-headed and misguided. This is the kind of thing that Ben Carson was talking about.

Santorum clearly seems to be trying to avoid saying that Root's main motivation was his racist attitude toward blacks. Santorum does say it's a hate crime, but he should have said much more.

And Santorum's attempt to identify Roof's action as a part of the broader assault on religious liberty is utterly invalid. There is no evidence that Roof did the shooting to attack religious liberty.

"Aren't police are allowed to bring their guns into a gun free zone?"

If they do it is obviously no longer a "gun free" zone. Simple English. Maybe "gun restricted" or "gun limited" but no longer "gun free".
Frankly I don't think the police deserve privileges not allowed the general population.

Here lies a good point.

The government here must carry guns to enforce the law.

In public areas, the people here have a right to carry guns that have not been legally designated "gun free" or posted with a "no firearms" sign.

The Court House, most all government offices, police stations and such are all off-limits. These are not truly gun free zones because the LEO must carry firearms. They are all legally carrying. A criminal will carry a gun illegally into these areas if he can get it past detection.

In private businesses and institutions, the owner sets the rules. A criminal will carry a gun illegally into these areas if he can get it past detection.

In homes, the head of household sets the rules. A criminal will carry a gun illegally into these areas if he can get it past detection.

The left insanely wants to make all areas "gun free". What they ignore is...

A criminal will carry a gun illegally into these areas if he can get it past detection.

Liberalism is a mental disorder.
