Your leaders want to do "ultra sounds" on women who want abortions, who, by the way, are legal, and ultra sounds not necessary, you want to defund Planned Parenthood, which, by the way, gives poor women medical assistance, and you want women to pay for contraceptives, while men get Viagra free, and you claim that we go after women?

There was this whole big deal on Obamacare providing contraception, to poor women and insurance to the poor that needed medical assistance. So is Obamacare a failure? If the poor now have access to Obamacare, Planned Parenthood doesn't need to exist, does it?

What the Right winger is saying is that Jesus would oppose Government programs that are part of the safety net that often supports poor folks and their children. The wing nut is saying that Jesus wanted help to the poor to be limited to only private charity...this is of course absurd...if Jesus saw a Government program feeding school age children free lunch he would not freak out...he would not compare feeding the poor to feeding wild animals like the GOP does ...

I think that is not a true statement at all Tyrone. Your generalizations have little merit. I live in a Republican stronghold and we have four or more food pantries and a very well run free healthcare clinic in the county. People caring for people without government help. You sound like a person at war with your fellow Americans. Some of the right sound the same way on this thread. That my friend is where we need to change first.

It would be easier to support federal programs if they had much higher success rates. I mean we have homeless programs, but still a large homeless population. We have welfare, but seemingly just as many or more people needing welfare. We have a military that hasn't won a war in decades and in constant use.

Probably 20,000 of us I just named. My problem is people should help people. That is how individualized support that can actually change a person's life for the better happens. Government sanitizes the help and also can only respond in a general way. I am looking for improved lives, not dependent ones. Both parties want dependency, because it is bought votes.

The free clinic comes from donations of local people, no government money at all. It has won awards for its success. Open your eyes to real solutions.

Indeed. In spite of all the Liberal hatred for Christians, it is most often the Christians who are the first responders. When Katrina hit, it was the churches that trucked loads of water, clothing, and relief supplies to Mississippi and Louisiana. The Southern Baptists trucked loads of shingles and building supplies to Texas for the tornado victims. In last week's tornado destruction in Century, Florida, FEMA is a total no show. It has been the churches that have cleaned up debris and even replaced the roofs of the people who have no insurance. It is the churches who run the food pantries and the Waterfront Rescue Mission in Pensacola, Florida that feeds the homeless.

Most Iraqis did not pick up arms against us. The ones that did should have been attacked, again IF we went at all. Are you reading this? I think I mentioned helping the poor several times, so why the inaccurate attacks on me? I offered some solutions. Your attacks on me seem intolerant.
