The Power of Prayer

As time elapsed, stories spread worldwide about Semiramis and Nimrod as Baal worship was everywhere. (The above information on the beginning of Satan's church and its unscriptural practices is found in The Two Babylons, by Rev. Alexander Hislop) In his book he has composed a list of names adopted in other parts of the world that can be traced back to Semiramis and Nimrod in one way or another. The list of names are as follows:

SEMIRAMIS or Ashtarte NIMROD or Baal the sun god
Cybele (Goddess Mother)
Asia Deoius (Asia)
Fortuna (Pagan Rome)
The Boy Jupiter (Pagan Rome)
Isis (The Queen of Heaven)
Egypt Osiris or Horus (Egypt)
Isi (Goddess Mother)
India Iswara (India)
Venus (Rome)
Cupid (Rome)
Ashterath (Phoenicia)
Tammuz (Phoenicia)
Aphrodite (Greece)
Eros (Greece)
Irene (Goddess of Peace)
Greece The Boy Plutus (Greece)
Ishtar (Babylon)
The Winged One (Babylon)
Rhea (Mother of Gods)
Orion (Constellation)
Diana (Ephesian)
Bacchus (God of Party going) of Ancient Greece
Shing Moo (Holy Mother of China)
The Centaur (Greece)

Satan pulled it off well as he had the whole world trapped into some form of Baal worship. The entire world had lapsed into polytheism (worship of many gods or idols). Mankind no longer desired to serve the true and living God and to accept His scriptural plan of salvation. (Romans 1:18-32).

Around 2000 BC in Abraham's day, Baal worship and its pagan rites had so permeated the human race that God called Abraham out from it to be the progenitor of a nation of people (the Israelites or Jews) who would be instructed by God through Moses and the prophets to be a shining light and an example of godliness to the heathen nations and reveal to them God's scriptural plan of salvation (Genesis 11:26-12: 1-5; Exodus 19:5-6; Hebrews 11:8).

____________
I hope that gives you a better understanding of what is going on, Campbell. As you can see - this was Satan's plan from the beginning to deceive the world into Baal worship - and it has nothing to do with Jesus Christ.

Constantine, Origin Of Sun Worship, Trinity, Babylon & Sunday

Campbell this is how Satan brought the Roman Catholic Religion into being:

When the Roman Empire was in power during the earthly life of Jesus and during the early Church period, the Roman Caesars were to be worshipped as gods.

The early Christians were persecuted by the Romans because they would not bow down to the pagan Caesars. Satan directed this persecution of the early believers in an effort to stamp out Christianity. But instead of wiping out Christianity, persecution resulted in its growth!

As more Christians were put to death, more and more Christians rose up to replace them. Satan saw that his directed persecution of the early believers would not obliterate Christianity so he moved to attack the Church from within instead of from without.

Satan devised a plan by which he would lay the foundation for and establish his own counterfeit church. Under Satan's direction paganism would get a new face. Satan would introduce to the world his own version of a “Christian Church.”

As was indicated earlier, the Caesars were worshipped as gods. As the Roman Empire was near disintegration, the pagan Caesars did not want to lose their power in controlling the world, so they decided on a plan by which to keep their power and influence in the world.

The Roman Caesars simply exchanged their Roman togas for religious costumes. Thus they could control the world's governments and their economies through religion.

After Constantine defeated Maxentius in 312 AD in a battle for the throne of Rome, Satan continued in his clever plan to build his own version of a “Christian Church.” After his ascension to the Roman Throne, Constantine issued his Edict of Toleration in 313 AD to stop the persecution of the true believers in Christ. Under Constantine the Christian Church for a time found relief from persecution. Satan had now temporarily stopped his persecution of the Christian Church from without, but he would now proceed to attack the Church from within.

Under Satan's direction, Constantine set up the “Council of Nicaea” and presided as “Summus Pontifex”, the official title of a Pope. Constantine's job was to mix paganism with a perverted form of Christianity to make his new religious organization look respectable.

This mixture of paganism with some of the teaching of Christ was Satan's version of a “Christian Church.” This powerful religious institution would be later used by Satan to send millions of souls to hell and to cause the deaths of many Bible believing Christians.

Many changes took place in this Babylonian pagan church. Under Constantine, the pagans were permitted to bring their statues and idols of Semiramis, “The Queen of Heaven”, and Nimrod, “Baal”, “The Sun God', into the Church.

The names were changed to the Virgin Mary, “Queen of Heaven” and little Jesus, “The Sun God.” For example: Is this Catholic image Mary and baby Jesus or is it Semiramis, “The Queen of Heaven” and son Nimrod/Tammuz? Note the pagan trident symbol from the head of what is supposedly baby Jesus and that the hand is displayed with two fingers and a thumb prominent, being another way of symbolizing the trident and is a Satanic hand sign symbolic of occult powers.

This is also used by high Church officials and priests in blessings invoking the sign of the cross by motioning their right hand with two fingers and thumb casually extended.

It is also found in freemasonry of which origins can be found in the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church erroneously say that Peter was the first so called Pope of this Papal system but in fact it was really Constantine.

So under Constantine as its first Pope, the Roman Catholic Institution as we know it today had its beginning.
See also paganism in the Catholic Church and Catholic Church error and was Peter the first Pope.

The Roman Catholic Church grew in power as the people in Rome were again under the priests and each succeeding Pope. Constantine had fifty Bibles made of perverted manuscripts composed by pagan worshippers of Baal from Alexandria.

Alexandria was not only the seat of Baal worship but was also the headquarters of the most liberal philosophers.

Those wicked philosophers produced their own perverted version of a Bible, and fifty such copies were made for Constantine to be given to the new “Church” over which he presided.

The Latin Vulgate, authored by Jerome and based on the above fifty Bibles, later became the Roman Catholic Bible, which was kept from the people so that unscriptural traditions would have greater emphasis in the minds of the followers of the Pope.

The above information can be found in the books, The Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop and the Angel of Light by Jack Chick.

Alexander Hislop in his book also traces Roman Catholic sacraments, ceremonies, doctrines, confessionals, priesthood, etc. back to ancient Babylonian Baal worship.

Roman Catholicism is based on ancient Babylonian Baal worship and on the man made traditions of the Church fathers.

Catholicism is not based on the teachings of God's Word or on the Scriptural plan of salvation.

So we find Satan had a long term plan for his church and sun worship, which was practiced on Sunday, and was initially most prevalent in Alexandria and Rome.

From this pagan sun worship came both the trinity doctrine and Sunday worship. Too many people are too quick to write off the fourth Commandment as unimportant when it obviously is.

Please read who is the Antichrist for the evidence and watch The god's of Babylon for the pagan origins of the trinity doctrine.

So you see, Campbell, the entire origins of Roman Catholicism ( the church you left and felt greatly disappointed in because God didn't answer the prayers of the people) is in fact a Bablyonian occult religion and God is not in it! With the realization that Satan is behind Roman Catholicism what can you do? You have already taken the first step in the right direction. You left Roman Catholicism. Now what is the next step? Believe on the LORD Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Campbell, Jesus Christ is God and those who receive Him (by faith) are pardoned of all the sins they have committed. Jesus came not to condemn you but to save you. It is a free gift of salvation.

Romans 10:9,10 is the Gospel message - Whosoever calls upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. God isn't in dead rituals and dead religion nor is He in the occult religions such as Catholicism. He loves the people but they are perishing for lack of knowledge because what is taught in Catholicism is not taught in the Bible, Campbell! The Doctrines of Catholicism are based on the Babylonian occult and a false Jesus! Of course the prayers of the people were not answered! They were not praying to the God of the Bible! They were praying to a Baal god!

Coincidence? I was just about to reply to Jeremiah and say that perhaps what is worse than complaining is the false belief that there is nothing wrong.

This world is not the beginning and the end, Campbell. We are from God. Saying what wonderful things you have done in this world and all that you have in this world is to miss the whole reason for this world.
Well...since I don't believe in gods....there have been a thousand of them.....I'll just say let nature take it's course. One thing I've noticed is how often Christians have to say, "God Works In Mysterious Ways!"

I don't have to rely on the use of mysterious. I don't believe in the supernatural.

Yet you desire to partake in discussions about it, Campbell. You see, prayer is above all else - supernatural!
Campbell is in that, 'I'm ok because of good works' phase. Although he is a little nervous because deep down we all know the truth.

As an agnostic, I am fascinated by religion and the idea of faith and belief, across all religions spanning the entirety of human existence. Anyone who has ever read The Epic of Gilgamesh will know that many biblical stories are plucked straight from the story, including the flood myth and the virgin birth myth.

Historians and religious scholars know that religious texts are made up of a series of myths. These myths appear across different religions and eras, and the same stories repeat themselves over and over again throughout history. Five near-identical “Jesus” myths that predate Jesus Christ.

The story of Jesus Christ is rooted in ancient myth.

1. Horus (3100 B.C.)

Horus was one of the many Egyptian Gods. This is probably one of the best-known and contested deities that is often compared to Jesus Christ. Some translations and Egyptian myths say that he had 12 disciples, and was born of a virgin in a cave. His birth was announced by a star, and was attended by three wise men. He was baptized at age thirty by Anup the Baptizer. Horus performed miracles, including rising at least one person from the dead and walking on water. He was crucified, buried in a tomb, and resurrected, just like Jesus Christ.

2. Buddha (563 B.C.)
Buddha’s mother, Queen Maha Maya, had a dream that a white elephant with six tusks entered her right side, impregnating her. As was tradition in this time, the mother left her husband’s kingdom to give birth near her father. She did not make it the entire way, though, and gave birth while traveling. Buddha was born in a garden beneath a tree. In addition to this birth story, Buddha, like Jesus, also performed miracles, healed the sick, walked on water, fed 500 men from a single basket of cakes, was transfigured on a mount, and taught chastity, temperance, tolerance, compassion, love, and the equality of all. There are also some texts that say he was crucified, spent three days in hell, and was resurrected. That is not what killed him, though, as he died in his? old age from what is believed to be food poisoning.

3. Mithra (2000 B.C.)

Mithra was an ancient Zoroastrian deity, and along with Horus has some of the most striking similarities to Jesus. Yet another example of virginal birth, Mithra was born to the virgin Anahita on December 25th. He was swaddled and placed in a manger, where he was tended to by shepherds. Like Jesus and Horus, he had 12 companions (which can be interpreted as disciples). He also performed miracles, identified with both the lion and the lamb, sacrificed his life to save the world, was dead for three days before being resurrected, and was known as the messiah, the savior, and “the Way, the Truth and the Light.” His religion also had a Eucharistic-style “Lord’s supper.”

4. Krishna (around 3000 B.C.)

Krishna, a Hindu God, was born after his mother was impregnated by a God. His birth was attended by angels, wise men, and shepherds, and he was presented with gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Like Jesus, when Krishna was born, a tyrant had ordered the slaughter of all newborns. In addition, he was baptized in a river, performed miracles, raised the dead, healed the deaf and blind, used parables to teach charity and love, rose from the dead and ascended to heaven, and it is believe he will someday return to earth to battle the “Prince of Evil.”

5. Osiris (around 2500 B.C.)
Osiris was the son of one of the many Egyptian Gods. Like Jesus, Osiris was portrayed as a bearded man, and his myth says that he was killed and the resurrected after three days in hell. Also like Jesus Osiris performed miracles, had 12 disciples, and taught that people could be born again through baptism in water. In addition, Osiris had many titles, including “Lord of Lords,” “King of Kings,” and “Good Shepherd.”

There are many more religious figures who have multiple similarities to Jesus, including Odysseus, Romulus, Dionysus, Heracles, Glycon, and others. Mythical stories depicting the virginal births of the sons of Gods go back millennia, most likely predating the advent of writing.
Well, you are not an atheist and I am not a Christian. I was an agnostic until God told me to read the Old Testament. I have gained understanding of God through the Old Testament and prayer. Who Jesus is I do not know. The fact that you end your search for God when you get to Jesus is one aspect of Christianity that does trouble me.
Let's look at this again, Campbell:

Constantine, Origin Of Sun Worship, Trinity, Babylon & Sunday

So Baal worship was in full swing. It caught on fast and spread to many parts of the world. In Egypt, Semiramis became known as “Isis”, “The Queen of Heaven.” Nimrod became known as “Osiris”, the husband/son, and frequently called “Horus” (the sun god). In Phoenicia, Semiramis and Nimrod were worshipped as or known as Ashterath and Tammuz; in Greece, Aphrodite and Eros; in Rome, Venus and Cupid, and in China, Mother Shing Moo and her child.

When the cold season began every year, they believed their sun god was leaving them. It was on December 25th that they noticed the gradual return of the sun god. So they called this day the birth of the sun. Tammuz was hailed as the son of the sun. He was idolized and even worshipped and the first letter of his name became the symbol of sun worship. Human sacrifices to the sun god were offered on this initial letter made of wood, known as the cross “T” and this “T” for Tammuz is also the true origin of Catholics crossing themselves. His birthday of December 25 was honored more and more.
______________
Do you see now how Satan has deceived you? This was his plan from the beginning. Always remember that anything Satan has a counterfeit for? He is copying what is genuine and that is that God is a triune being. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is 1 x 1 x 1 = 1. So Satan deceived the world with his "unholy trinity" - you see that?

LOL...so you believe the 42 death penalty sins in the old testament??

You cut-n-paste that from another message board? That has to be close to the lamest thing I have ever seen.

He did? I did not even notice! You are sharp, RV! My gosh!

That is unbelievable! But I believe you! What a disappointment!

RV, About the link I posted on the history of the RCC - the link was solely for the purpose of giving the history on Semiramis, Tamuz, Nimrod, Horus, Osiris, etc. If a person wants to worship God on Sunday? I have no problem with it! In my mind every day belongs to God. It is not an issue for me although I noticed for the author of that website - it seemed to be a focal point for them. I do not think we should get hung up on days and times - it is good to enjoy God all the time - every day!

Have a wonderful evening, RandomVariable. Again - you were very sharp to check that out.

Campbell must be crying in his soup now. (pun intended)

That's in the old testament and Jesus said not one jot or tittle of the law would be changed till all was fulfilled. Now...let's go kill a few witches and queers. And if anyone dares to fart at the dinner table his goose is cooked. I guess that's what the one about making holy perfume was talking about.

Campbell you sound very familiar. Have you ever been to USMB before?

As for the Jesus saying till all was fulfilled.............it was "fulfilled" at the cross, Campbell. He had not yet gone to the cross, understand? When he went to the cross what did He say? It is Finished!

Human sacrifices to the sun god were offered on this initial letter made of wood, known as the cross “T” and this “T” for Tammuz is also the true origin of Catholics crossing themselves. His birthday of December 25 was honored more and more.

You cut-n-paste that from another message board? That has to be close to the lamest thing I have ever seen.

He did? I did not even notice! You are sharp, RV! My gosh!
Did you guys even cross check any of the scripture??

That's in the old testament and Jesus said not one jot or tittle of the law would be changed till all was fulfilled. Now...let's go kill a few witches and queers. And if anyone dares to fart at the dinner table his goose is cooked. I guess that's what the one about making holy perfume was talking about.
On the other side of all that scripture is a reality. It is a reality so above and beyond what we can comprehend from our point in time and space that writings about that reality can seem quite absurd. You say you believe in the reality on the other side but you mock scripture and you mock the people who believe in scripture. Where do you think that leaves you at the end of the day?

Campbell you sound very familiar. Have you ever been to USMB before?

As for the Jesus saying till all was fulfilled.............it was "fulfilled" at the cross, Campbell. He had not yet gone to the cross, understand? When he went to the cross what did He say? It is Finished!

Doesn't make much difference if he thought it was finished or not...It Was!
I was in the USMC so other than that I don't know what you're talking about. Now...back to the scripture. Did heaven and earth pass away? Read closely:

Matthew 5:

17"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18"For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished."

Now....like I said, Let's go out and slay a few witches this morning.

Another thing...if you believe that nonsense drink a little Merry War lye or rat poison and handle a few diamondbacks or cottonmouths...then cast out a demon or two and heal a couple of lepers and orate about it with a little unknown language. The bible is bullshit!!!

Matthew 16:

17"These signs will accompany them that believe: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Chainsaw Joke!
And finally… There’s a joke about a huge big tough guy who is also a bit dim witted, and who wants to become a lumberjack. He goes up to Canada and finds a place where they’re hiring. He asks the foreman if he can have a job.

The foreman looks him over and says, “You’re a big strong man, so I don’t think that will be a problem. However, every man in this team has to cut down 100 trees a day minimum. Here’s a chainsaw, go out into the forest and see what you can do. You have three days to get up to speed. If you can’t make the 100 trees minimum at the end of the third day, then I’m afraid I can’t hire you, but I don’t think you’ll have a problem.”

The big tough guy sets off with his chainsaw to cut down trees. At the end of the first day he reports back to the foreman. He managed to cut down 87 trees. “That’s a great start,” the foreman tells him. “You’ll do better tomorrow.”

At the end of the second day he reports back to the foreman again. His total for day two is 93. “Great!” says the foreman. “You should easily make the 100 mark by the end of tomorrow. I have faith in you.

At the end of the third day he reports back to the foreman with a sad dejected look. His total for the third day is only 99. “I can’t understand it,” says the foreman. “You look like the kind of guy who could easily do it. Maybe your chainsaw has a problem. Let me take a look.” The man hands over the chainsaw and the foreman pulls the cord and starts it up, revving the engine.

The big tough guy leaps back in shock and exclaims, “Jeez! What’s that noise?”

The moral of the story is this: brute strength can do wonders most of the time, but a good chainsaw can always do better!

That last phrase might not always be appropriate, "but a good chainsaw can always do better!". This is the same with the laws of Moses. One must look at who Moses was. He was someone who was to lead the people out of Egypt. He was not someone like Jesus or Mohammad. Moses gave the law to the congregation and it was for the congregation. Jesus and Mohammad were speaking to the world. So when Moses says kill a non-believer in your midst he means in the congregation. When Mohammad says kill a non-believer in your midst he means anywhere on the planet. What I find a bit odd is not that Jesus says one can sit down to lunch with a witch and that is fine but that Jesus says one should still follow the laws of Moses. Jesus has a very different message than Moses, but they are also in different contexts. Mohammad has a message more like Moses but Mohammad jumped from the congregation to the world so Mohammad's message is similar to Moses' but only in style, not in intent.

The issue you seem to be having, Campbell, is that you think Jesus is mythological and that for you to personally follow laws of Moses is impractical so therefore the Bible is bogus. I disagree with you on some of that.

Jesus might not be mythological but his message sure is. About 2000 years ago in N. Africa and the middle east every third man claimed to be the son of god and 10% of them had the given name Jesus.

What makes your rendition of god any different than all the other imaginary friends concocted by the elite for the control of the masses. I'd have told them to kiss my ass as soon as the first one of them ask me to work harder so that their 10% would be more.

You do realize that when all this Jesus crap was put in writing it was at least 500 years before paper was invented...in Asia at that. What that did was to restrict the story telling to a chosen few who could read...write and had access to papyrus and consequently scrolls. Most of the masses at that time were afraid of the dark, believed in witches, shit on the ground and wiped on their hands. They bought any line of bullshit which was fed to them by the elite.

Look at Vatican City. Hundreds of billions of dollars worth of architecture, fine art, silver and gold. All the while they live like kings when the scripture plainly states the fate of the rich. Folks with any doubt should read about the fate of the rich:

Luke 16:

19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.

25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’

27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’

29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets let them listen to them.’

30 “‘No, father Abraham he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’

31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

24The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." 26They were even more astonished and said to Him, "Then who can be saved?"…

401K anyone??

Matthew 6:

19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20"But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;…

You lost your audience due to your deceitfulness. Not only is your profile off of a hate Christian website that provides material for God haters seeking to destroy the faith of others, It's downright un-original and dishonest of you. Your entire presentation has been full of deception from the beginning. This is one problem you won't be able to "soup up" because you started out wrong. That is what happens when you seek to deceive others, Campbell. You lose your audience.

I lived in the church for forty years. I taught Sunday school, was a member of the Brotherhood, worked with RA Boys, visited the sick and worked on a large expensive building additions to the church where I was baptized. I had most of the new testament memorized chapter and verse while I was still in my 20's. I retired in 1993 and within two or three months made up my mind that I would tell my kids that I had never believed that ancient horse shit! I did not want to die letting them believe I was that naïve. You folks don't seem to understand that:
1) Prayer never Has Changed A Thing
2) Your own mind is where your ideas originate
3) People who looked around and found a way to get the masses to give them 10% of everything were almost as naïve as modern day people are. If you believe so much go read this scripture from the New Testament and then prove your faith. Is this from some website which is destructive to your religion?

Mark 16:
17"These signs will accompany them that believe: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
