Now list the collective population of those countries.

Hell just do China and India.

Next question --- how did they end up in this order? It's good to see "Nipple" and "Button" next to each other though.

The question after that --- nothing listed from Africa?

Well, another Atheist hostile to religion. We all know what Atheist did to the religious during the rise of Soviet Communism and the French Revolution.

Not only is this list woefully incomplete (nothing listed in Africa such as Benin, Liberia, Madagascar, Mauritius or Togo which would all apply, as would New Zealand) ---- but it also fails to take into account syncretism, where elements of various religious practices are conjoined to form a new practice, as in for example the blending of Roman Catholicism with West African practices collectively known as Candomblé (in Brazil), Santería (in the Spanish Caribbean) and Voudoun (in the French Caribbean). Clearly these are cases where more than one category of "religion" apply on a large scale. It takes place wherever cultures meet and mix and introduce foreign ideas.

Such a list seems to be fixated on an either/or dichotomy, as if it's somehow necessary for a population or person to pick one from Column A or one from Column B, to the exclusion of everything else on the list, which just isn't how human societies work. Religions are not either/or deals. Like anything else it's entirely possible, and fruitful, to take new ideas that are perceived to be good ones and reject those from the same source that are not, and incorporate them into one's own life. Hell, that's how I do it. Give me such a checklist and I'll have marks all over the page.

Perhaps this list is intended to illustrate how much the two noted religions spread themselves by force (?). I had a Lithuanian GF who proudly boasted that her country was the last in Europe to be Christianized. :)

You are so full of shit, it comes out of your fucked up pie hole. Christians today dont go out and murder kids, left wing assholes like you who dont believe in God, do. You are such vile evil creatures, that Lucifer is waiting to get his grips on you. There is a war coming, it wont be about the color of the skin but Good vs Evil. Just like with Muslims, shoot a few of them and let Lucifer sort it out.

Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals
Opening page - Dedication
“Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history... the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.”
Obama learned his lesson well. I am proud to see that my father's model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday." --Letter from L. DAVID ALINSKY, son of Neo-Marxist Saul Alinsky

Now how many of them were murdered because "they" --- whoever "they" are ---- don't teach kids about masculinity values? Virtually all.

Yep, India and China have overproduced when it comes to people. The mistakes of just two countries. Good thing the United Nations only allows one vote per country.

As for order I tried to go from West to East. That's why I started with Israel.

Africa is pretty much either Christian or Muslim. Muslim in the north, in the center is where you get some splits between Muslim and Christian. There might be some splits where neither adds up to 50%. But they would still be majority, 50% or greater Abrahamic religions. The south of Africa is pretty much Christian majority.

Just look up on wiki majority Christian countries, or majority Muslim countries. There are shaded world maps for both showing which countries are at a particular percentage level.

The main point of coming up with this thread was to save this list in a spot I could look at again.

Whelp, you missed at least five countries in Africa as I noted in post 8 and some others. If you're going to make a list and declare "these are all there of of X", then you can't leave those out. Nor did you address either the dichotomy question (syncretism)* or the meanings of such a label. Where such surveys are done at all (in Luxembourg for example it's illegal**), respondents will very often answer with what they're expected to say, which tells us nothing about their level of investment in said meticulous label. Is a respondent who answers "Lutheran" just because that's what his parents ostensibly practiced but he hasn't bothered since he was 16, the same "value" as the nun who goes to church every day? In such a list, both would have to equal the value of "one".

* South Africa for example:
>> According to the 2001 census, Christians accounted for 79.8% of the population, with a majority of them being members of various Protestant denominations (broadly defined to include syncretic African initiated churches) <<

**then there are people like me who won't answer such a question, finding it mindless and none of the surveyor's damn business.

Most Canadians will give a "Christian" answer, but at the same time they'll also note that religion is not something important in their daily lives. So even if this list IS fixed to be more accurate, and even then only as an abstract group of labels ------ what's the point of making it?

I already mentioned the point of making it.

This was not an attempt to measure level of religiosity.

If you have any sort of a supernatural belief, its likely influenced by Christianity or Islam in all the countries of the world except the 17 in the list.

No actually you didn't address that question at all. You only said you wanted to have a list here to go to but you didn't say why you would WANT to go to it.

The only reason I can guess to make up such an abstract classification, given all the grey areas in trying to force people-pegs into strict holes, is to divide them up into "us" and "them" camps. What other purpose can it have?

Religion is a private, personal matter. As long as you find your own, what business is it of ours what everybody else is doing?

Where is your evidence that any of these places are in their current condition because nobody teaches God?
Back in my day, before class started in "public elementary school" we had a quick prayer to God. We also were taught that if you did bad things you went to hell for it. Boy when you grow up knowing you are going to be with the Kennedy brothers or worse, Robert Byrd, burning in hell, you tried to tow the straight and narrow road. But then along came 50 shades of grey, instead of black and white, and so what starts out as a little "EVIL", soon escalates to a lot of EVIL, just look at Hillary and her dead people she leaves behind when they cross her. Look at Obama, and his killing of US citizens without due process. Look at Antifa and BLM, who go out of their way to assassinate the men in blue who are doing their job in protecting the assholes who want to kill them. Now for my apology.

I am sorry that you are too stupid not to see what is going on around you, because since they dont teach, Good and Evil in school anymore, those EVIL people go out of their way, to murder other people. Just look at the Las Vegas Shooter, a Bernie Supporter who shot up conservative kids at a country western event. Still haven't heard much else about the guy, because the liberal media wont show how fucked up their side is...

So how about you explain to us all how two antichrists manage to engage in genocide slaughtering millions of people when belief in God was far more embedded in society than today
