The guilty verdicts came in so fast and U.S. Army brass didn't want to tarnish their own reputations in a execution spree so they nominated a U.S. Army master sgt to do the dirty work who didn't know shit about hangings. Most of the Germans strangled to death slowly at the end of the rope.

some sentenced to death--then that to life--then they didn't even serve that!
