The number one driver of debt is a Congress spending way too much money that we don't have on things we don't need or don't have to have now.
 
Yep. We have spent 14 trillion on wars over the past 2 decades.
And mega bucks on many many things that did not do one whit bit of good to improve qualify of life for Americans or anybody else, but did increase the power and fortunes of the few who did benefit.
