Interesting point that I saw on CNN today. It seems that they've only turned it on, the real experiment (smashing 2 atoms together) is going to happen in December.
Maybe the Mayans got it wrong, it's not Dec 21st, 2112 that is going to be the end of the world, it's going to be Dec 21st, 2008 when they actually do the first experiment.
