Washington’s writings, both public and private, are full of references to the Bible. This is certainly true during his eight years as the first President of the United States.

In all likelihood, Washington was an orthodox Christian.


Like Washington, Benjamin Franklin also referenced Bible verses, stories, and metaphors throughout his life. His calls for prayer at the Constitutional Convention were typical of his attitude. Franklin, who had his own unorthodox views, summed up his faith this way: “That the soul of man is immortal, and will be treated with justice in another life respecting its conduct in this.”

Clearly not a view of God ignoring his creations.


6. When it comes to John Adams, the Leftwing sophists have a field day!

11. The rights of the same-sex couple should be protected….but so should the rights of religious folks.

Here is what ‘rights’ are.

  1. A right is something an individual has by virtue of being human.
    1. Human beings are the only entities that have rights.
  2. Rights belong to each human individually.
  3. Rights are exercised by individuals, and are not given nor ascribed by any person of group, especially governments.
  4. Rights are voluntary, in that individuals may choose whether to either exercise them or to ignore them.
  5. Individual cannot have a right that infringes upon or diminishes the rights of others.

6. To be clear, ‘benefits’ such as education, shelter, or a job require resources from somewhere else, and therefore, cannot be given or protected without restricting another’s right to the property of his hands or mind.

7. It is a grave error to believe that rights evolve due to societal changes, and expand to include free education, shelter, a minimum wage, healthcare…even wireless Internet access.

8.Whereas the right to bear arms and free expression require nothing but governmental promise of protection, fake rights entail government coercive redirection of private resources.

Thus, material benefits do not meet the basic standards of a right.


9.Realize, expanding the concept of a right to cover desires represents theft, peculation, as the natural and timeless rights of people must be subordinated to the power of government.

Honestly, while I'm pleased with the overall outcome, I was very disappointed in the decision itself and the reasoning on which it was based. It seemed very cowardly, and is guaranteed to keep the issue open and festering, and returning to the courts until a better, more decisive statement is issued.

They basically avoided truly addressing the key issues in the case: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of association. Instead, to quote Ben Shapiro, "the court ruled that the baker didn't have to bake the cake because the members of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission were unduly mean." Well, no, he doesn't have to bake the cake because he has multiple Constitutional rights not to do so.

All this means is that we're going to be right back in the same place in a few months, with another case where THIS time, the government was a little more polite about violating people's rights.
