The idea that no solution exists never occurs to them & in this lies their strength

It's reality, and it's scary enough...unless that's what you want. People who enjoy freedom aren't too keen on it.
Please enumerate the freedoms you have lost. the personal freedoms you care so much about. which ones have been removed since January 20, 2009.

If you're an oil company, you have lost the "freedom" to pollute without recourse. If you're a hedge fund manager, perhaps you have lost the "freedom" to bilk people out of their life savings and yet manage to personally amass a fortune. But no one has taken away your freedom to speak, own a small arsenal, drive a gas guzzler while our soldiers die to secure the fuel for it.

Otherwise, it's just more of the typical fear mongering we have come to expect, isn't it?
I no longer have the freedom to decide whether or not I want health insurance. Some do-gooding liberal son of a bitch decided he knew better than I did.
And this presents a constitutional crisis and a Socialist plot to control the Republic?!?!?!

In some states, motorcyclists are forced FORCED by the Socialist do-gooder state to actually wear a helmet whenever they operate their bikes on the public roadways! Can you believe it? Why, if Thomas Jefferson ever wore a helmet, it was his decision alone!

Health care! bitch, please!

At risk of being called arrogant and consescending I suggest this thread best characterizes both the Tea Party and neo-Republican Party adherents.
It seems each has come down to this pharse, "aint't it awful".
The former oppose government, and there is no doubt there is reason to be disgusted with how those elected officials in government today have performed, and the latter oppose Demcorats, claiming they will be different (this time, even though they helped create the mess).
But neither the Tea Party nor neo-Republicans offer an alternative, at least one that is viable and a practical soluton to the mess made by Washington.
Ain't if awful Obama...
Ain't if awful Pelosi...
Ain't if awfu Reid...
Whiners all.
You're both arrogant and condescending.

Happy now?

you forgot dull. he can't even get his own little spiel right.

ain't if awful...wtf does that mean?

just sayin :eusa_whistle:

Roadways ARE public and Government is mandated by the Constitution to build roads, therefore they may mandate the people their use.

And to what auspices and audacity does the Government have to force commerce unto it's people regarding Healthcare?

Can you please point this out?

"WAAAA! WAAAA! WAAAA! WAAAA! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Oh Brother. Must be a left wing, Obama lovin loon. Jeeze.

Do the wingnuts have some sort of training camp where you learn these mindless responses?

1,2,3:

"Say French"

"Roll eyes"!

'Got some news for you:

You live in a country with about 100 million "left wing, Obama lovin loons".

If ya think that Obama supporters are some sort of inconsequential fringe group, then you are totally out of touch with reality...

Welcome to America, I suggest opening your eyes!

It has to start somewhere. There has never before been a law that mandates EVERYONE buy something.
In some states, motorcyclists are forced FORCED by the Socialist do-gooder state to actually wear a helmet whenever they operate their bikes on the public roadways! Can you believe it? Why, if Thomas Jefferson ever wore a helmet, it was his decision alone!
Poor analogy. If you don't like the law, you don't have to ride a bike. Operating a motor vehicle is not a right, it's a privilege, so the government makes and enforces standards.

Living is not a privilege, it's a right. And now, the government says that to enjoy that right, you have to purchase a product.
Health care! bitch, please!
Because you need government to run your life for you does not mean I do. You want to surrender your rights, go right ahead. But don't make the mistake of thinking you have the obligation or authority to surrender mine.

This incredibly bad law will be found unconstitutional and overturned. And that will be good for the Republic. Bad for Democrats, but good for the Republic. That's frequently the same thing.

That's the mission statement. What in the rest of the document lays out government involvement in health care?

Its the same ole same ole from the bigots on the right-"Cut spending, lower taxes"- as if thats any sort of solution to our economic crisis.
....And, don't forget Trickle Down!!

With all o' the big-buck$ the high-roller$/1%er$ are gettin' in bonu$e$/dividend$, you'd think we'd be seeing SOME-kind-o' trickle-down (from The Reagan/Bush Years), by NOW!!!!!

That says promote, not provide.

Try again, comrade.

That isn't what it means. The General Welfare Clause was extended to the States in reguard to commerce, (See Article 1 Section 8) and was not meant to address redistribution of wealth toward persons at the behest of Government.

You should really educate yourself. Seriously.

As usual those on the right, Tea Baggers (I really enjoy posting that term) and neo-Republicans don't really have any ideas. They're stuck on - as noted above - cut taxes, cut spending, reduce the size of government and then they dance the Henny Penny Polka ("Oh NO! The sky is falling")
Nowhere do the 'dudes' and dudettes ever express an idea, a suggestion or a hint that they have ever thought through the problem of (pick one) Illegal Immigration; Job Creation; Deficits; Economic Crisis' in the several states, healthcare, border security, etc. etc.
You'd expect more from the spawn of Yuppies????

Seems to me one of the biggest problems is that so many RW mouthpieces have done such a good job drilling into so many people's heads the notion that taxes and just about everything associated with government are bad. At the same time, though, there are a lot of public services those same people take for granted which the pols they vote for know they would miss, so they don't cut those services, but they don't raise any taxes, either, since both options are politically unpopular.

Soviet Style Central Planning fails every time because of "Central Planning", not becuase it's Soviet.

Really? You cut taxes after 2001. How did that work?

You had your chance to cut spending, what did you do?

You had your chance to reduce the size of government, what did you do?

Have we any reason to believe anything you say?

Why do you keep saying you had the chance? I didn't have any say in anything the republicans did last time around, and was screaming my head off about how they were not behaving like conservatives.

How comical.......

Every time I hear one o' you folks who've recently reached a state-o'-clarity (i.e. realize how FOOLISH you look, after supporting The Idiot Son, for sooooooooo many years....and, are in FULL-BLOWN-OVERDRIVE FLIP/FLOP-MODE)....you always sound like one o' the 20 Million who insist they attended Woodstock!!!!!

You QUITE-obviously need a ReRon-RESET!!!!!!
