Embarrassing for any American to know that there are fellow Americans who have such a low level of knowledge. Fortunately, the decision makers who design campaigns over at the DNC do not consider such voters to be their base.

As embarrassing as it may be to the DNC, people like that are the DNC's base... it's guaranteed... and to say otherwise is bullshit...

but, of course, they don't have to design their campaigns towards such people... they need to go after the middle 20%... as do their GOP counterparts...

Oh yes......The Obamaphone lady

The rights poster child for "aren't blacks stupid?"

However, in watching the clip, it is the ignorant reporter who plants the idea of an Obamaphone. Anyone who knows anything knows it was George Bush who expanded the program.

LMAO again. Staph, I can't help it that you always want to prove what an ass you are. And seeing as how I enjoy reading what Mac has to say, and you always show up to try to slam Mac, you just make it to easy to use you as an example of exactly what Mac has been discussing. Rethugs have gone bat shit crazy.

I do the same with snippy. So don't feel so special. Quit saying such stupid shit and no one will pick on you. Hell, you might even add something to a convesation worth reading.
I doubt it, but you might. Go for it.

But don't whine. Cause you sure like to hand the shit out so you better be able to take it.

Listen up dumb ass, I don't give a shit what you do..If this is your mission in life..carry on with your idiot self

QUIT WHINING STEPH. Speaking of mission in life. 29000+ posts steph. Just what is your "mission".

in eight years, member since 2004... you've been here a YEAR with almost 3000 post..move on to someone else child you aren't worth my time...bye bye..

lol, not angry, blown away by some of the things you people say here..
it's like, what the hell...the Democrats got the memo not to do that...good grief:lol:

First of all, "got the memo" is just a figure of speech.

So, are you saying that there were not Republicans who said things that played directly into their worst stereotypes, damaging their brand? And please don't divert to the Dems. This is a direct question.

.

Of course, but it is the media and you people who harp and harp on it to death to further your agenda..Take the thing with Fluke, the Republicans didn't say that, but you all made it out like it WAS..Now Maher, a million dollar donor to Obama and Democrats calls Palin a Cxxt, you all say oh he doesn't speak for Democrats..
Democrats don't have to do anything when they have so many sheep and the media who will do it for them

I really don't think you understand my politics.

Indeed, there are people from both parties who are going to take every opportunity to make the other look absolutely as bad as possible. No doubt about it. Both parties, by the way, not just the Dems, not just the Republicans.

I would just have you consider the possibility -- as crazy as this may sound -- that there are some of us who are not fond of either party, and want two strong parties on the field to keep the other in check. And it is our humble opinion that, since the advent of the Tea Party and the rise of the absolutists, the GOP has been taken over by people who are, on balance, badly damaging the party's brand.

We are the same people who will pile on the Democrats when they (inevitably) take over the crazy from the GOP. But right now, at this moment in history, all the Dems are having to do is point at the GOP and say "holy crap, look at THAT!" -- and those of us who don't like either party are reacting to that. We don't like it.

It's entirely possible -- even probable -- that you don't believe a word of what I just typed, and there's not much I can do about that. But at some point you'll need to see that there is far more than just left and right. In fact, I think there are far more of us than there are of you.

Yup......all of the violence from Grandmas and Grandpas wearing fanny-packs.

I like your idea of giving the Republicans seminars on not saying stupid stuff. The problem is that they keep saying things that play right into their very worst stereotypes, making them an easy target. Somehow the Dems have gotten the memo not to do that and they generally do a much better job of measuring their words.

Politics, whether we like it or not, is largely about image. Right now the GOP just doesn't seem to get that fact.

.

holy smokes, the Democrats got the memo not to do that...you are kidding right?
It's like i said, the media doesn't REPORT every single thing a idiot Democrat spews..
We wouldn't know about it without the Internet or Fox news..that must by why you all hate Fox so much

Goddamn Stephanie, seriously, are you capable of having a calm, reasonable conversation about ANYTHING? Do you really need to get so angry about EVERYTHING? Are you required to inject personal insults and name-calling at EVERY opportunity?

It really is possible to have a mature conversation, even with someone with whom you disagree. Really.

Cripes.

.

Stephanie does care, I think, but her rage drives her so hard that she can't think clearly.

She believes her tu quoque responses are enough, which they are not at all.

It does not matter what the Dems do, it matters what we Republicans do, and the hatred is not the way to go. It is clear we lost, in part, because of the hatred and the dumb speak. Either we change, or we keep losing.

Racist equals racism and racist talk. No one who is racist is interested in freedom. If "freedom" is involved in a racist's speech, then the term is merely cover for racism.

oooo... I'm hot for the dim-bulb grannie @ 1:38... :)

Radio hosts Michael Medved and Mike Rosen (KOA/Denver) are both conservative talk show hosts who avoid the whacked-out hyperbole practiced by the Limbaughs, Levins, Savages, Becks and Hannitys (the division pimps) of the world. So while they're committed partisans, they at least make the effort to be thoughtful, mature and reasonable.

In the last couple of days, however, they both had to deal with hardcore conservative callers who have been driven so over the top by their ideology (and, most likely, the aforementioned division pimps) that the talk show hosts were clearly embarrassed and had to disavow the callers.

In both cases, the talk show hosts were discussing gun control. And in both cases, the callers went into angry tirades about Obama. To paraphrase, both said something like "we all know that Marxist communist is gonna try to take our guns, and when he does, we're gonna defend ourselves against all those socialists who think they can destroy Amurrrrica." Something like that.

In both cases, the host sighed and paused, trying to find a way to respond quickly and respectfully. They then politely disagreed with the caller and moved on. I can only imagine what was going through their head, but I suspect it was something like "how do we get rid of these people?"...

Thing is, these people aren't going away. We see them here on this board, and they really believe the stuff they say. It's not a game. And they're so blinded that they don't realize how this is looking, what damage it's causing their own side.

They have to be marginalized, but how? I don't see how you get from here to there.

.

Two words come to mind....Alan Berg.

Wow, flashback. I live in Colorado, and I remember exactly where I was the moment I heard he had been shot.

That's a fair point. The Levins and Savages and Becks get these people all fired up, and I guess it would not be terribly surprising if one or more of them did something with their rage and their fear.

All the more important it is then, that the crazies are marginalized asap. The division pimps need to cool it off, for example, but it's like asking a politician to vote for term limits - if they suddenly stopped the hyperbole and became reasonable and adult and civil, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot.

So to speak.

.

Right after sandy hook, and up until about a week ago, my FB feed was filled with, what I used to consider reasonable people, frothing at the mouth in fear of gun control. Reasonable people actually discussing civil revolt and using words like dictator and socialist.

It worries me how many mostly normal people honestly believe the president is a Kenyan pinko commie dictator, and if normal people see him as such a threat to America, what about those who's hold on reality is tenuous? :/

Yup, you are. Anyone can go back and read your posts.

Jake being accused by you of anything means jack shit..go back and bring up all these racist post of mine. you've really reached a new low..go to hell

You also live in a state of denial. You are simply so hardheaded that you can't change when evidence clearly suggests a change would be good. We got our GOP asses handed to us because we are ignoring demographics, which include racial ones.

We are not returning ever to the America you want. I am not sure it ever existed.
