The so-called "Nazi" salute is primarily the DORIC (Greek) salute to the Rising Sun, a salute through which the human body could draw energetic forces from the Sun, ascending to higher spiritual states and mental fields. This salute, performed with the right hand outstretched, was the most common way of greeting among our ancestors and also symbolized that the greeter in time of war raises his hand to take the weapon to fight and in time of peace to show readiness.

The greeting of the raising of the right hand starts from ancient Greece and more specifically from the Doric and Pelasgian societies. It seems to have first appeared in the rites in which the priests greeted the statues of the gods in this way.
Characteristic of this greeting is that the palm is pointed towards the greeted person. The reason is that in this way the priests showed the purity of their intentions. To do this, they must first have washed their hands thoroughly. At the same time, by greeting in this way, they showed to the gods that they were also mentally pure towards them.

Good to see you doing a bit of Copy and Paste ,though there are dozens of other Topics that you need information on for your own pressing needs . Diet , eye sight ( that car was naff) and dress sense are obvious ones . Whom do you and your meeting buddies like the most -- Adolf , Himmler , Goebbels or Goring ? How about Bormann ? Very clever guy .

Possibly true. The Romans copied much of the Greek culture, even their gods. Also architectural style, some weapons, ect. But Greek remained a tiny country whereas Rome used to spread the values of freedom, legal security, wealth and science into much of Europa, Africa and the Middle East. A today´s Rome would possibly have colonies on the Moon or even Mars.

Look what happened to that once the novelty wore off and we realised that the beat is just one part of music. Know any new Rockn Rollers now ? Of course not -- just memories . And the colour of that car was just Boy Racer horrible .BTW , Who is your favourite Nazi -- see previous ?

Are you being a naughty fibber or do you secretly admire them all ? Nazism plays a large part in the images you post and in your obvious repressed sexual preference .

Don't put too much stock in a rando Facebook post.

There is, AFAIK, no literary or archaeological evidence that either Greeks or Romans used a salute like this. Notice that the three pieces of art that the Facebook dude uses are all from the 18th century or later.

In fact, it doesn't take much imagination to think of how bad actors could use a claim like this to build up their legitimacy. Lesser powers have been trying to link themselves to ancient Greece and Rome for that reason since the times of, well, ancient Greece and Rome.

If you need to be skeeved out even more, a quick Google search of "Doric salute" returns a very similar-looking post, including one of the photos, on Stormfront. There's no way I'm clicking on it.
