    lol.

That is an interesting position to take 20 min after I post a 3 hour vid. Essentially, you just tried to call me stupid for thinking a discussion was interesting that you did not even watch.

You might want to avoid calling people stupid or confused from a position of ignorance.

    Agreed.

I like him because he's intelligent, thoughtful, civil, and very interesting. He challenges mindsets. He's not a sheep.

Making people think used to be a good thing. Nowadays that makes him problematic, for some. So they just attack.

We've turned a very troubling corner: If I don't agree with you, I can't like you. We're devolving back into childhood.

Ok there’s archetypes, which he does touch on a lot, then theres stereotypes, which are different. Archetypes are common, universal themes that pop up in every single culture, from every single time period. If you don’t like archetypes, then be upset with the people who made 50 shades of grey the fastest selling book ever, Greek mythology, and anybody who likes Star Wars.

You’re going to have to be more specific when you claim misogyny. If misogyny to you is the fact that there are gender differences, then be upset with reality. Yes Peterson points to these differences, but that’s not even the main point he tries to get across. The main point he tries to get across is, yes there are gender differences (and this needs to be recognized, sorry 3rd wave feminism), but there’s more differences between individuals of the genders than there is between genders themselves. It’s only very apparent in the extremes in the group, e.g. Men are typically more aggressive, there are plenty of women who are more aggressive then men, but you really only see the difference in the extremes like men make up 90% of the prison population world wide, and most of the women in prison are there because they get involved with a bad guy. Basically stereotypes are off in 95% of cases, it’s only in the 5% on the extreme ends do you see them manifest. That’s at least in reference to gender stereotypes.

Really what his message is about women is at the very least flattering to them, because it’s his view that they mature and grow up faster, and in this day and age have their shit together way more than men. Which is why his main message is for men to get their shit together.

Like I said you’re going to have to be specific when you use the phrase misogynistic, what specifically does he say that is misogynistic?

Never trust someone who only makes simple ad hominem arguments.

He’s a pretty smart dude as evidence by his career at the UN, Harvard, and University of Toronto where he leads the Psych department. He would’ve been considered someone politically dead center 8 or more years ago. He’s only considered “partisan” now because he’s saying the radical left has grown and are dangerous if they continue to grow. He still says the far right are very stupid and flat out wrong, but they’re easier to pick out and dismiss vs the far left since there are extremely few who don’t consider the Nazis (ethno-centric nationalism) as flat out evil. He makes very clear the fact that the right and left need each other, because too much of one or the other always turns bad. He, a recently unknown Canadian psych professor without any traditional fame propulsion stepping stone (name another famous psych professor who blew up from an opinion posted on YouTube), exploded on the scene just by stating why the left has gone too far, both historically and scientifically, in a way that makes sense. His message to fix this is people need to take responsibility of their own lives before they try to fix the world. Is that obvious, yes, but few are being taught that, let alone putting it into practice. It makes sense which is why it is resonating.

No he’s not the messiah, but he’s a very capable person, putting out a message that has been missing for many and makes sense. That’s why he’s been blowing up. He’s not the only one blowing up either, look at joe Rogan, just long ass unedited conversations with thinkers. Sam Harris, disagrees with Peterson about 90% on everything, but intellectually honest enedited conversations with thinkers. Ben Shapiro, conservative Jew who has intellectually honest conversations with those he disagrees with. The Wienstien brothers (Brett and Eric, not to be confused with the movie producers), again relatively unknown professors, that were and still lifelong progressives, who blew up by standing up against the even farther left (as well as being able to have intellectually honest conversations). There’s a few different common patterns here, despite this being a politically diverse group.

All I hear against Peterson so far is either name-calling using terms like misogynistic without backing it up, ad hominems, or strawmen. Be specific about what you don’t like about what Peterson said, then we can have an intellectually honest conversation about that.

I really enjoy watching Jordan Peterson interviews. I would describe him as brutally honest which puts him in direct contrast with PC culture. That is why Liberals don't like him. He doesn't use high sounding lofty terms that don't mean anything. He uses clear simple language and puts his finger right on the issue and digs it in to make sure you get it.

I admire Mr. Peterson for sharing documented truth about FATHERLESS American children and teens.
