There have been many applications and all have been prevented from going forward, hence the originating manufacturer has a monopoly; just the pricing you'd expect from a monopoly; an inevitable result when a billion-dollar market is cornered by one supplier.So Joe Manchin's daughter's plea of how this $600 price tag is out of her control is just a lot of hogwash.

The US has the less regulated environment in the world for Big Pharma. Thus the fact that Big Phama's prices are many times more expensive in the USA than in other country in the world.

The prices for our drugs come from the fact that we actually create the drugs.....from determining there is a need for a drug to the years of research an hundreds of millions of dollars to actually find the drug that works and put it into a useful form.....that is why our drugs cost more....
Canada...Britain....they make the pill after all the other work is done.......so they have absolutely no cost to making that pill other than making the pill........big difference .....
