the Trump Foundation tried to pay off one of the public officials who was investigating the matter. It donated $25,000 to the political campaign of Pam Bondi, the Florida Attorney General who had been tasked at the time with investigating Trump University’s illegal actives within the state.
Not only was it a blatant attempt at paying off a public official in order to make an investigation go away, it was also a violation of the law regarding charitable groups. Trump Foundation wouldn’t have been legally allowed to make a donation to a political candidate under any circumstances, let alone under such corrupt circumstances
