The Bible, the only way to heaven

Hell is eternal torments and death, since he who does not enter heaven with Christ has died the second death, there are no temporary "visits" to either heaven or hell.

My religion doesn't believe in hell...

Your kind rejected Christ, don't waste your time running to the mountains with your white robes on, the Messiah is not coming to save you.

is THAT the kind of thing Jesus would have said? "Your kind"? There ARE such a thing as jewish christians, you know. Getting frustrated, all Martin Luther-style, won't make your faith any more personally relevant than hers.

Of course not. Which is why Jillie's question is as obnoxious as it is bigoted. You can't "prove" anything to a non-believer using the bible because THEY DON'T BELIEVE THE BIBLE.

It's a wasted effort. Pearls before swine.

Sorry Allie baby... I don't think it's particularly audactious to believe my beliefs have as much validity as yours.

I chuckle to think that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is as plausible as Aliie baba's god. Hey, as long as proof is not required, the sky is the limit.

It's all in what you have faith in... I'm kinda doubting, though, that you really believe the Flying Spaghetti monster exists, so I'm thinking that maybe it's for humor purposes only. :)

That is exactly why the FSM was created. If someone can have their god taught in a public school and there is no proof for the existence of that god, then I should be able to have MY most ridiculous god who has the exact same lack of proof taught in school, too.

Don't tell me you've never heard of the Great Noodly One? His followers are called Pastafarians.

If everyone follows the guide lines and commandments that the Bible puts forth they will have eternal life,

Where does it say that?

Right! If you follow the Bible you will have eternal life according to the Bible.

That's circular, right?

If I wrote a posts that said "If you obey these posts by Iriemon you will have eternal reward" that wouldn't make me correct merely because I said so, would it?

This is circular reasoning, but since you don't understand the Bible why waste time trying to school you? Your heart already does not believe.

If the bible was real proof, then the religious beliefs of the person reading it would be irrelevant. Proof would prompt anyone of any religious belief to accept it. The bible falls short in that respect.

Have you ever read what Jesus said about and to those non-believing Jews? Try picking up a Bible and reading so.

Just because you're a non-believer doesn't mean the Word of God has fallen short, it is the non-believer that has fallen short.

How to identify a zealot:

1. They always interject their religious beliefs in the forms of "teachings" into topics that are inherently not related to such, usually in the form of reciting or repeating some scriptural reference.

2. They insist that all other religions are wrong or evil regardless of the fact that they truly do not have more validity or truth in their own religion.

3. When their religion is insulted indirectly they will rant and cry foul even after the person who had done so apologizes.

4. Everything they disagree with that becomes law or any act that is different than them, no matter how unrelated, is considered an "attack" even when those involved are not focusing on the religious aspect of such.

It works in politics to, but meh, different topic.

Not an insult, a metaphor.

But lost on those without the wits to understand the concept of a metaphor.

Translation: Charlie Bass doesn't have the evidence or the ability to convince anyone so he'll just insult his oppnent instead to take the spotlight off his shortcomings.

Romans 10:13-14

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Isaiah 66:1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

And again,

Acts 7:48-49 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

I have. I've also read about what your messiah said about how it's HIS role to judge people and not YOUR role to throw the first stone. Funny how YOUR kind have become nothing less than pharisees, eh?

An INSULTING metaphor is not an insult because it is a metaphor. BRILLIANT
Next you will RATIONALIZE that it is an "act of compassion."

How is what he said anything like what a pharisee would say?

I'd say that parallel would be a lot closer to Jillie's label of "zealot" aimed at any person who dares to make a profession of faith.

Another telltale tactic they use is when you challenge them to support an assertion they made, they say "YOU look it up!". In other words you caught them bluffing.

If everyone follows the guide lines and commandments that the Bible puts forth they will have eternal life, why anyone would go against it and or put it down as a worthless religious book is beyond explanation. A lot of you people who are against the message of the Bible[you can be against Christianity all you like, thats man-made] most likely have not red the Bible in detail with the inspiration of the Spirit and with understanding so its only logical that you would lash out against that which you don't understand. The Bible is *NOT* subject to change its message based on what is acceptable by man because it is not man who will allow you into heaven or send you to hell it is God, so if homosexuality, pornography and glorification of fornication and sexual promiscuity is popular and or widely accepted by man the Bible is not wrong for its holy message against those types of things and conversely, those of us who preach these scared principles are not zealots and fundies.
I have read the bible, went to youth group for years, and was a Job's Daughter for five years. I understand the bible completly. ANd if I don't want to buy into it that is my choice so don't assume everyone doesn't follow it has no understanding of it. Plus most people you don't believe in the bible do not believe in the heaven it speaks of so I don't think they are worried about not getting into it.

Nobody understands the bible completely, and I've seen you make some pretty humongous blunders regarding pretty basic biblical concepts.

And Jillie, you just hate Christians.
giving the fact I never refer to the bible or quote it I doubt I have made any blunders regarding it. I might state what I believe happened and it might not go along with what the bible says but it doesn't make it a blunder. But go ahead and show me where I even refer to the bible or even quote it.
