The Benefits of Bilingualism

A billion Chinese and a billion Indians.
I am unsure which of their languages or dialects I should learn.

My brother learned to speak, read and write fluent Chinese when he was younger, married a Chinese woman, and has made a fortune in business as an importer. He can fly over to China (he used to go to Taiwan) and meet with the Chinese businessmen and speak their language fluently, which really makes them respect him.

I don't know if that will help you decide, but thought I'd throw it out there. :)

Unfortunately, I don't think this applies much to taking a couple of years of Spanish in high school, as taught by the assistant football coach just making a little extra money.

What!! My three years of French in high school don't count? Why, after three years I can say things like,

"Comment vas-tu, Jean?" I think that means where are you going, Jean.

No!!! Wait! It means "How ya doing, Jean?"

See, there. Bonjour.
