I know you meant this as an insult but it is actually a complement. The left wanted to exploit this for a political agenda while the people on the right actual did think about the suffering the people went through which is why they offered their 'thoughts and prayers'.

Yeah, the right offer their "thoughts and prayers", having about 1% empathy, while the left realize that this will just keep happening again and again and again unless something is done to solve the problem. So, the right can give their "thoughts and prayers" the next 10 times too, and still they don't care enough to actually do something.
