The 35.4 Percent: 109,631,000 on Welfare -- thanks Obama!!!

Wow. Typical Republicans. They get plenty of Food Stamps. In fact, they get the majority.

"Means tested programs" are not welfare. They include Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, and "earned income credits". These are the means by which large corporations underpay their workers, and put the burden for their wages onto the back of taxpayers, instead of raising the minimum wage.

That's not welfare you dolts. That's large multi-national corporations screwing the American taxpayers, and you're all for it.

Corporations don't give welfare. Democrats give welfare. You can't blame corporations for what Democrat politicians do.
Funny, I just posted an article on Appalachia. Or as some call it, "The White Ghetto".

There is a story there about how these poor whites take $500 in food stamps and turn it into $250 in cash.

If this isn't blatant racism, then I don't know what is.

Drug abuse fuels steep rise in hepatitis B in Appalachia, study shows

Republicans think when hepatitis is acute, that it must be "pretty".

There is a vaccine for it. But Republicans think vaccines cause "autism". What ever that is.

You don't have to be black to be a Democrat. Plenty of filthy white as well.

I am glad people are getting help.

Why should we be a nation of work or die??? Work isn't always available.

Usually a POTUS would know how to get a recovery rolling, but it's obvious Obama had no solution for this other than to place more people on Government support programs, this will be his legacy, FAILURE!!!

Their entire platform revolves around claims of racism....

Imagine if this record belonged to the GOP:

2. (CNSNews.com) – The unemployment rate for black Americans is more than double that of white Americans, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).... In the numbers released today, covering the month of June, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for black Americans age 16 and over was 10.7%, reported the BLS. The unemployment rate for white Americans in the same age group and time-frame was 5.3%, said the BLS. Black Unemployment 10.7%, More Than Double White Unemployment 5.3%

3. "CHICAGO (Reuters) - Predominantly African-American neighborhoods in Chicago have seen poverty rise and services diminish even as the nation's third largest city has become less racially segregated,.... black areas are seeing economic stagnation or decline,.... mostly black areas have lost health clinics, social service agencies and other areas of support..." Exclusive: Poverty up, services diminished in Chicago's black neighborhoods - study

The 35.4 Percent: 109,631,000 on Welfare

Welfare to work was working, getting Americans off welfare, but Obama reversed that policy, and now there's more people on welfare than ever.
If you actually look at the data in table 2, the actual "meat" of that 35% figure comes form Medicaid. Where we have 27% of households with one or more on Medicaid.

The question for the gop, is that by ending Obamacare in LA, for example, you end health coverage for over 500K people. What becomes of them. And even without Obamacare, that 27% factors in one kid in a household getting Medicaid with Schips even in states that didn't expand Medicaid under Obamacare to cover adults.

Nobody ever asked what was to become of us--the millions of us that lost our coverage because of Commie Care.

My employer like so many others dropped that benefit when Commie Care went into motion. The entire thing was a lie. Even the name of it is a lie: Affordable Care Act.

So I called them yesterday, put in the application, and told the lady who my health providers are. She said that in order to get health insurance, it would cost me at least 20% of my net pay. Can anybody explain how this is affordable? The cost of the cheapest plan was less than my mortgage payments. To boot, it didn't cover anything either. $50.00 dollar copay for doctors. $7,000 deductible. $7,100 out of pocket.

Even the lady on the phone was honest enough to admit the price and coverage were completely ridiculous. I lost my healthcare coverage because of that big-eared Commie, but the guy that makes my french fries down the street at McDonald's has great coverage I'm sure. But then again, I'm a middle-class working guy who votes Republican, and the french fry maker is likely a Democrat voter.

So why should I care about what happens to those people if Trump gets rid of Commie Care? None of them ever cared about me.

Well, what should become of you, as well? Not that Obamacare was well thought out. I've consistently posted it only real use was to give us no alternative to single payer, not that I like that either. But the facts are ... here we are. What does the GOP propose now they have their wish of being able to repeal it?

I'm sure there are all kinds of ideas being bandied about. I think it will be impossible to kill the thing in one day. But the first step should be getting rid of the employer mandate. Second step should be getting rid of the citizen mandate.

From there, I think Trump should have countless meetings with hospital and clinic CEO's. Find out why healthcare costs so much to begin with. He should also have the same meetings with CEO's of health insurance companies to find out what their take on all of this is.

We need to lower the cost of healthcare first, then figure out how to pay for it so it's fair to everybody--not just Trump voters like Commie Care was.

What I think such meetings will bring out is that government is responsible for much of our cost problems. For instance, most providers take it on the chin when they treat government patients. Why? Because government underpays for all of their patients, sometimes 30% less than the non-government patient. Doctors and hospitals have to recoup that loss somewhere, and that somewhere is in increased pricing that private insurance ends up paying. In return, premiums increase.

What insurance companies complain about the most are the nickel--dime claims. All that paperwork for somebody to see a doctor for $75.00. The more claims of that nature, the more people have to be hired by both, the providers and the insurance companies. A health savings account would be a large part of the solution to that problem.

Those are just some of the ideas I have, but I won't bore you with each one. Bottom line, there are plenty of was to deal with this health cost problem.
