Thanks to PC Leftards, California is on the Brink of a Hepatitus A Pandemic

Wow, so when you let people piss and shit on public streets, have poor trash clean up and let homeless people wander around everywhere they like, you get DISEASE OUTBREAKS.

California Hepatitis A Outbreak on Verge of Statewide Epidemic - Breitbart

The California hepatitis A outbreak is on the verge of reaching statewide epidemic status, as cases have spread through homeless tent cities from San Diego north to Sacramento.
California health officials have reported that at least 569 people have been infected with the hepatitis A liver disease and 17 have died since a San Diego County outbreak was first identified in November. Cases have migrated north to homeless populations in Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, San Francisco and Sacramento over the last 11 months.

Although local and state authorities have tried to underplay the risks and severity of the outbreak, the most recent annual totals for cases of hepatitis A in the United States was 1,390 in 2015, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC). California only reported 179 cases during the same year.

The highly-contagious hepatitis A outbreak may have taken root because of the City of San Diego’s efforts in the run-up to Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game held at Petco Park in July 2016 to push the homeless, and the rampant drug and prostitution trade among them, out of the downtown tourist venues. Those effort included locking public bathrooms and essentially relocating the homeless to the congested tent city encampments that stretch for blocks east of downtown near freeway onramps.

Another explanation may be the city’s decision to ban plastic bags, which deprived homeless people of an alternative means of disposing of human waste when bathrooms were not available.

The last major hepatitis A outbreak was 900 cases and 8 deaths in Pennsylvania in 2003. The infected suffer flulike symptoms and jaundice, but the disease can progress to death. Since 1998, national hepatitis A incidence rates had been “progressively lower each year” due to the development of a “safe and effective hepatitis A vaccines in 1995–1996.”

California homeless advocates have been successful across the state in forcing cities to accept the homeless living in large tent communities on public property. The advocates refer to anti-homeless ordinances as the modern-day equivalent to post-slavery Jim Crow and Depression era anti-Okie laws that allowed police to disperse people deemed “undesirable” after dark.

The City of San Diego was forced to sign the Spencer Settlement in 2006, which forbids its Police Department from enforcing the city’s “Illegal Lodging Enforcement Guidelines” between the hours of 9 pm to 5:30 am.

Right, so it happens because there are shit loads of homeless people. Maybe a lot of them made homeless because of Bush's policies causing a major economic recession AND fucking over a lot of people and rewarding the banks with cheap houses to sell.

Northern CA has had a yuuuuge problem with the homeless, the dangerous camps, pan handling, drugs... All the problems inherent in having a large population of homeless people around long before Bush came along. Cali could be rich instead of bankrupt if they weren't so fucking stupid.
I volunteered a lot in my years there. I'd go I to Redding and work in the soup kitchen, the shelter, the clothing shop, helping to clean up the incredible filth left behind in abandoned camps... wherever.

I got to know a lot of them and their reasons given for their predicament were as varied as brands of cold cereal. Never heard them say it was Bush's fault though.

No doubt. California attracts a certain kind of person.

Warmer climates seem more homeless people. Why? Because it's warm and it's a far better to be out and about in the warm than in the cold.

California is number one. Florida, Texas are 3 + 4.

Hardly surprising. However there has been an increase.

This is from NY state. An massive increase in homelessness from 2008 onwards.

If I had a place to go that I could afford..which isn't much..I would leave Cali. But...we are too old now to start all over AGAIN. So...we stay here in our redneck mountain town until we can return to the central Cali coast...if it ever happens. But going back to living in the van just to be there? No. We stay here. At least we have a roof, I have my own room, MrG has his own room, we have food, a bathroom, and are surviving. Can't beat that with a stick.

I live with illegals. All these stereotypes of them being hard workers , is exactly that. A stereotype. The jobs Americans won't do? Another stereotype. Ever read Steinbeck? But this has just become a cheap excuse to allow illegal aliens because rich (liberal or conservative elitists) people are manipulating politics and popular sentiments. I see all these undervalued American workers living on the streets, under tarps near viaducts or near rivers on bike paths. plain to see. I see Illegal mexicans overvalued as a work force because the rich elitist that drive our economy let them. our so called "Homeless". Winky- wink, forget our homeless let's help Mexican illegals instead. Meanwhile Our elitist overlords get a free pass and it excuses illegal emigration.

Redding does indeed suck. Chico is almost as sucky but not quite. Oroville is a dump from what I have seen of it. I like it here in the mountains though. Haven't seen any homeless people at all. Methheads, yes. Homeless, no. And 95% are caucasian conservatives. Lots of churches. Gun toters. In short..rednecks. But...I don't have a choice. And it beats southern California and a mushroomy RV or my van although I could live in my van if it was just me.

If you saw no homeless, folks digging in trashcans for recyclables, people on every other corner with their signs, people carrying back packs with all their possessions or any signs of homeless maybe you are really somewhere else and didn't realize...
Because it's a big problem and it gets worse all the time.
Drugs contribute to the problem and add newly homeless daily. Did you ask these meth heads you saw if they were homeless or did you just assume they took their scrawny, shaky, sore covered selves back to the ole homestead after a day of drug hustling?

Of course, all those rich white uber liberals don't actually LIVE with illegals. In a barrio, so they don't hear all our voices They hear what THEY want. Then there's people like me (lived among wetters for over 25 years) are oft quoted as being ignorant and regarded as racist. Damn , we get get rich white elitists exploiting illegal aliens telling us otherwise lowly underlings how much harder their newly found neoslaves from Mexico work. I live with Mexicans, 8 out ten of then just drink and stand around and do NOTHING. I see masses of disposed homeless Americans and it make me sick. I live with mexicans living stuffed 15 people in home, section 8, all to aid Mexicans here illegally. It's time to end that. And our beloved politicians need to hear US. ALL of us.

What's a wetter and why do you live stuffed into a home like that?

I've been in supervisory positions a time or two and never ever had a problem with any Hispanic employee. They didn't call in much, they did their jobs very well and I didn't have to deal with snarky behavior out of them either.

ASSume much? I was homeless along with them. Back on the central coast. Here? I have not seen any. Probably because rednecks look out for their own. And this town is nothing BUT churches. The hospital, all the docs, the specialists, the friggin' dog shelter...all run by churches. They even have heated bus stops that are enclosed here. On the central coast? Nope. They are on their own. WE were on our own. It was not fun.
We had to ask homeless people where to sleep safely, what to do, where to go where we would not be arrested. They gathered at McD's. THEY told us all we needed to know.
And no, nobody digs in dumpsters there OR here. There, because they will be thrown in jail. Here, no need because the Church feeds them. It also is extremely cold here in the winter. Again, they take care of them. No, most are not drug addicts. What happened to them was the same that happened to us. Lack of planning, trust in individuals to keep their word, illness, not able to work and having to get on SS and not having ENOUGH MONEY to pay ATROCIOUS RENT on that SS..and therefore HOMELESS.
I was not "scrawny, shaky, sore covered and neither was my husband. We used bathrooms of ex neighbors, the vet that got so much money from us when we HAD money that sent his kids to college due to our pets seeing him, and homeless people steering us to the harbor patrol showers that cost 25 cents for 10 minutes...50 cents if you want lukewarm water.

There are methheads here, yes. The guy that just laid housemates kitchen floor was bouncing all over the place and his eyes were solid black from being so high. But, he has a full time job, a house, and is NOT homeless obviously.

Cluefuckingbird.....it can happen to anyone. No matter what you plan, something you DIDN'T plan may happen. Good luck when it does. You'll need it.

I didn't say you and your hubby were shaky, scrawny or sore ridden. I was speaking of the method heads you mentioned. I'm glad you know one that still has a job and home. Maybe he'll keep it till the drug kills him. Maybe not.
You say homelessness can happen to anyone, and it could. But you also gave reason why you became homeless. The lack of planning and preparedness. I didn't even know you'd been homeless. I'm glad you found your way out.
James and I have been planning and preparing for the 35 years we've been together. We planned for this very thing. Moving to Missouri and buying some land and a house outright so we didn't have payments when we knew we were heading for less income and other crap that happens.

But do you live with them? Biggest question here, obviously not. I have seen so many things, Wetters move in , landlords giving them section 8 housing, , stuff like these self same assholes driving vans loaded up with people in the middle of the night with the lights off, doing this illegal alien underground shit. People slaughtering goats and having bonfires during a red flag alert (no burn) and running drugs and stolen goods and on and on and on and on and on.... I want this to end. End this Sanctuary city daca Bullshit madness. Stop enabling illegal aliens once and for all. Enough.

And just think of how loving they are by allowing the HIV people to donate blood special isn't it. Maybe they can donate having Hep. too. Why the hell not we wouldn't want to hurt anybody's feelings by not including them in their HEP. epidemic why it wouldn't be fair if others don't have it to.

This is from NY state. An massive increase in homelessness from 2008 onwards.

If you gotta be homeless, Cali or Florida are the place to be. The shelter I did laundry for had a 30 day rule. You could have a bed, shower etc for 30 days then you had to leave for 30 and give someone else a chance. They'd take their giant back packs, bed roll and trash bags for recyclables and find a spot off the roads in the woods or wherever and call it camping. Some had family nearby but sadly, most had burned those bridges.

Oh, yes. We planned to move to Missouri too. Found a few really cute houses to BUY, in Marceline Mo...home of Walt Disney and that town is the model of Main Street in Disneyland. Until one tiny HUGE mistake on my part. I didn't get something in writing. All our money went into the house we were renting..because it was supposed to be a life estate. Wrong. It was a 2 bedroom. We made it into a 4 bedroom on OUR dime. Landscaping. New fence in front. Roof repair. Replacing appliances as they wonked out. His words were "don't bug me, and I won't bug you. I will NEVER ask you to move". He lied. I guess he found out the value skyrocketed on his dinky 2 bedroom 2 blocks from the beach after it was turned into a 4 bedroom with a beautiful yard and improvements.

That is how we lost our roof. We trusted someone on his word only. STUPID me didn't get it in writing.

Couldn't afford the atrocious rents being asked there...so we went to "friends" in southern calif. Lasted there about 2 months and I said enough..I am leaving. We went back home THINKING we would get on housing for seniors. Wrong. We wound up in my van and used his truck to haul the stuff we kept. We were homeless 4 months. MrG almost died. I freaked out. Put an ad in Craigslist BEGGING someone to take us in with a certain amount of rent we could afford from our SS and nothing. NOTHING. Tried east (Bakersfield). Tried south (Santa Barbara areas), finally tried north. BINGO. Housemate we have now responded and said come on. Actually, got three responses. One from a lady in Eureka that was 75 and needed help with her farmer market produce...one in Magalia that needed help with her 10 dogs (2 were pit bulls)...and the guy we are living with now. And what got us to say YES to him was the subject line in his response email:
"You, your husband and you dog are welcome here". That did it. I crammed MrG in his truck, strapped him in and said "stay focused and alive. Relief is 6 hours north", I got in my van with my dog...and here we are.

It was an AWFUL 4 months. Never again. We made a pact. If it ever comes to that again..and now that my dog is dead and I don't have to worry about her so much, and MrG is healthy again seeing regular docs....if it came to going back to that awful experience...he will aim Matilda at me and I will aim Betsy at him and we count to three and pull the trigger. Fact.

Wow, so when you let people piss and shit on public streets, have poor trash clean up and let homeless people wander around everywhere they like, you get DISEASE OUTBREAKS.

PC idiots need to earn biology but they wont because they dont give a flying rats ass about anything but the destruction of a once glorious state.

And you know people who foster kids too!!!

Does your arm ever hurt from you patting yourself on the fucking back?

For fucks sake Gracie. Munch a pill or something.

I mentioned people I know that have fostered in reaction to you're saying antiabortion people don't have any care for children once they are born. I was arguing my side of the argument. I hardly think me knowing folks that foster is anything to pat my own back about.

And no, my arm doesn't get sore from patting my own back. It gets plenty exercise carrying old people, lost children, accident victims and little baby kittens to safety.

Actually..I take that back. One person here at USMB offered their home to us. But...we would die there. Alaska is just too frigging cold and too far. MrG would have never made the trip. But I love the person that offered.

Sorry. Reliving last year. Gets me upset, then depressed. And I shouldn't feel that way cuz we are safe now. Although I still grieve for my dog. She was not supposed to die up here in the mountains. She did. I lost BOTH dogs. One in Southern Cali the short time we were there. One here 4 months ago. Its still raw.

Enough.

What is a wetter?
No. I don't live with large groups of people of any sort and don't know why I would.
I have had Hispanic neighbors. This one family used to roast a whole pig for birthdays or some celebration. Just dig a big ole hole and plop that pig on a spit for slow cooking. The music got to be a bit much sometimes, but it was only those days. They sure knew how to party.

I agree with sending illegals back to come back the right way.

I didn't even know you'd been homeless.
I'm surprised you didn't know since it's been a great running joke in the FZ with the Clique for over a year and was STTABs favorite thing to throw in my face along with Pillars yukking it up as well. Oh, and the death of my cat? That was yuckable too. So much fun for them!

Watch. Read. They still use both for brownie points in 4F.

Wetter=Wetback.
Term no longer applies though. They just walk on over.

And, the housing list we have been on back home? I won't hold my breath. Single parent illegal hispanics will be put in front of us until we die of old age waiting.

We despise hillbillies. Sad but true. Here in Denver, we get illegal alien Mexicans...talk about the cement pond, these adorable hicks never heard of hygiene let alone American culture. Nope, they don't understand acli-mi-zation. Nope, it's out side a their a-kin . Besides , their wonderful overlords live in a universe far far away, in a HOA approved well groomed universe well away from the poor unwashed of any ilk and make the big decisions. So they can opine about racism and illegal aliens in the safety of their tidy well kept bunkers.
