Thank You, PC Police

As totally asinine a these all are, and they get even more ridiculous if you look at the longer list in the PDF on the referenced site, you have to understand one thing and take it in to account.
This is coming from a California college. California, the same state that cant even manage their water is trying to tell other people how not to speak.
It has been long recognized by real Americans that anything coming from California is only good for the laughter content.
And the funniest part?
its not PC to recognize someones race, but its not PC to not recognize someones race.. Gonna have a problem here.
and affirmative action IS racist and it does cause one to question the ability of those hired under it. Sorry, but its true.
Yeah.

But these people definitely recognize race. It's the first and most important (to them) thing they see. They are obsessed by skin color, because they know they can (still) leverage it to their advantage on a whim.

.

Please elaborate.

on what, I think that what I typed should be fairly clear to the average American.

The radical left is very good at silencing speech THEY find unacceptable. By doing this, they shut down debate and they win.

It is simple and effective, but terribly unjust.

This is great, finally they're saying up front what they don't want people to say, so that we can plan ahead. And they're finally admitting that they don't consider America to be a Melting Pot:

The University of California s Insane Speech Police - The Daily Beast

And here we go, from the piece:

Saying, “There is only one race, the human race,” is offensive because it denies “the significance of a person of color’s racial/ethnic experience and history.”

“America is the land of opportunity,” implies that “People of color are lazy and/or incompetent and need to work harder.”

Asking an Asian, Latino, or Native American “why are you so quiet?” is tantamount to giving the order “assimilate to dominant culture.”

And stating the opinion, “Affirmative action is racist,” is a microaggression by default. But how are students and faculty supposed to have an intellectual discussion about the merits of affirmative action if anyone making the opposite case is automatically branded a racist?

And they include "Melting Pot" in the list. At least it's official now.

Thanks, PC Police, keep 'em coming, I know you will.

Interesting that you cherry pick the most marginal examples. And the origin of the hit piece is from Fox News and posted by a think tank tied to big tobacco and the Koch bros.

Comment from UC spokeman:
"Given the diverse backgrounds of our students, faculty and staff, UC offered these seminars to make people aware of how their words or actions may be interpreted when used in certain contexts. Deans and department heads were invited, but not required, to attend the seminars,” University of California Office of the President spokeswoman Shelly Meron told FoxNews.com.
Is that supposed to be a defense? You're just highlighting their PC reasoning.

Thanks!

Here is your word for the day: context

Words and phrases can be totally benign or derogatory. It all depends on context of the relationship and situation.
No, it depends upon the phony hypersensitivity of the listener. Hypersensitivity then leveraged for advantage.

How does it feel to be a tool of the right? This article has all the right wing "hot buttons" right wing turds love to use as a way to blame "liberals" for America's problems...

Why it's a university, and in California no less... this MUST be unique to "liberals"

The truth is awareness of microaggressions are big in the business world. But that doesn't fit your handlers narrative.

Microaggressions can cause problems in the workplace

Business leaders recognize workers are now and in our future being drawn from a growing diverse pool of talent. In light of the change in our population there is a movement to train workers in diversity sensitivity by developing policies and procedures to stop overt and obvious bias-based acts. All of which are in alignment with policies developed at the top of an organization.

The topic is interesting as it gets at a fundamental aspect of knowledge. Often when I get into discussions with people who see the world as a racist would I find they think their racism is something other than racism. So called rational thinking is often irrational, if or when you draw attention to it you are no longer the life of the party but an interloper. If you get the chance and have lots of friends or at large gatherings of diverse people - weddings work - check out how each group moves into the sphere of reality they find comfort with. If you want to be the oddball, challenge the usual hooey that goes for conversation, ie opinions.

There's only one human species, homo sapiens. But just as identical species of animals have unique adaptations for where they live, and what they eat (finches on the Galapagos et al.) humans come in a variety of skin pigments oweing to where they developed. Darker pigments in more UV-intense regions, lighter pigments in more northern or southern climes. But we're all the same animal.

Affirmitive action isn't racist, but it is insulting. It says that other ethnicities are less capable than another and so should be given positions and employment despite not matching up.

Others were too stupid to reply to. :)

That's not Affirmative Action. Affirmative Action means that if two candidates are equally qualified, the white guy doesn't automatically get the job.

"Conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, the only current black Justice, opposes affirmative action. He believes the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment forbids consideration of race, such as race-based affirmative action or preferential treatment. He also believes it creates "a cult of victimization" and implies blacks require "special treatment in order to succeed". Thomas also cites his own experiences of affirmative action programs as a reason for his criticism.[94][95]"

It also resulted in record high drop out rates for blacks in colleges, who were not qualified to go there in the first place but were admitted under affirmative action. And a real slap in the face to the blacks who were qualified and did graduate. The more qualified blacks labor with the rumor that the only reason they are there is because of AA, when in fact they would have gotten in anyway.
It is a racist system and needs to go.
