Opposing Authoritarian Ideological Fundamentalism.
This is great, finally they're saying up front what they don't want people to say, so that we can plan ahead. And they're finally admitting that they don't consider America to be a Melting Pot:

The University of California s Insane Speech Police - The Daily Beast

And here we go, from the piece:

Saying, “There is only one race, the human race,” is offensive because it denies “the significance of a person of color’s racial/ethnic experience and history.”

“America is the land of opportunity,” implies that “People of color are lazy and/or incompetent and need to work harder.”

Asking an Asian, Latino, or Native American “why are you so quiet?” is tantamount to giving the order “assimilate to dominant culture.”

And stating the opinion, “Affirmative action is racist,” is a microaggression by default. But how are students and faculty supposed to have an intellectual discussion about the merits of affirmative action if anyone making the opposite case is automatically branded a racist?

And they include "Melting Pot" in the list. At least it's official now.

Thanks, PC Police, keep 'em coming, I know you will.

Yes, the ability of white males to "just not get it" might be imperiled by asking them to think about what they say.

Not to worry, Mac. You'll keep saying ignorant things, and most of us will just roll our eyes. .

The OP ought to investigate the matter further. It seems he is all too willing to accept editorializing as fact. If the charge has to do with PC....Mac will believe anything.

It is apparent that the radical left does not believe in freedom of speech..well except from themselves.

PC police are like the Fashion Police. They don't exist.

If they did exist, you wouldn't see fat guys with bed head, wearing grimy teeshirts and pajama bottoms,

at the Walmart.

Not to mention the girls with exposed belly flab.

Interesting that you cherry pick the most marginal examples. And the origin of the hit piece is from Fox News and posted by a think tank tied to big tobacco and the Koch bros.

Overlooked...

Heading at the top of the list states:
The first step in addressing microaggressions is to recognize when a microaggression has occurred and what message it may be sending. The context of the relationship and situation is critical.

Comment from UC spokeman:
"Given the diverse backgrounds of our students, faculty and staff, UC offered these seminars to make people aware of how their words or actions may be interpreted when used in certain contexts. Deans and department heads were invited, but not required, to attend the seminars,” University of California Office of the President spokeswoman Shelly Meron told FoxNews.com.
