Abbott seems to be one of the only leaders that cares anything whatsoever about who is flooding in to the country.

Texas is adding to its border wall to deter migrants from entering the state by constructing a barrier between itself and New Mexico.

“Texas installs fencing along NEW Mexico border. Our barriers around El Paso forced the migrants crossing illegally to enter into New Mexico. They then entered into El Paso from there. To end that, we are building a barrier on the New Mexico border,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Ironic. When covid was starting, the Zuni tribe near me blocked a highway going through their reservation. The state of NM allowed it and defended it until it a federal court made them reopen it.

I guess the question is...why? Can't do it on private land, which there's a couple hundred miles of. Can't block the roads.

Wait until al the citizens from Toronto show up there seeking asylum what will Texas do then? Toronto,.along with Ontario.is on the brink of bankruptcy and Canandians will probably choose the route from Mexico rather than the Northern border.

So when Gavin Newsom banned California state employees from traveling to pro-life states, you stood up and protested, right?

That was on state business. In the words of the immortal bard:

Just checking here, you understand that New Mexico is a state right? You can't block travel or trade between states generally.

Yes, of course, and no doubt Abbott is pushing the limits of Constitutional law. However, when you have the federal government completely FAILING in it's duties to secure our borders, then no one should be surprised when a state like Texas tries on it's own to do what they can in stemming the flood.

Well, who would have thought?!!

"New Mexico and Texas Democrats condemned the action in a joint statement."

“Earlier this month, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced the placement of razor wire fencing along the Texas-New Mexico border north of the Rio Grande near Sunland Park, NM.
