Texas and Florida are competitive in an election

The numbers are out there

Texas and Florida are in play and could possibly turn blue.
There is nothing that says future Hispanic voters will vote Democratic but Republicans need to give them a reason to vote Republican

What would that be?

simple, because democrats have been lying to them and trying to use them as voting slaves.

hispanics are much more in touch with reality than you libtards think they are.

If that is all you have ....you are going to lose and lose big

The Democratic message is getting across and obviously, the Republican message is not

If that does not change, you can count on losing Texas and Florida for generations
Wendy Davis will change Texas purple!

Texas is still a Red state

The point is that demographics are changing. It will no longer be the good ole boy redneck Texas od old
That wont transalte into a Democratic Texas, no matter how much you wish on fairy dust.

Demographics are what they are

Republicans can ignore them, but they will eventually catch up with you. Republicans forfeiting the Hispanic vote will cost them for a generation

Texas Hispanics are more likely to be multi-generational in the US, and more conservative than Hispanics in say California and New York, where they are often 1st or 2nd generation immigrants.

Preferences don't always translate to votes. Also you have to remember the South is full of "democrats" that haven't pulled the democrat lever in decades. Long time Hispanic residents included.
These people are known as Republicans.

And some of them still identify as "democrats."
But have not voted that way for years? Do not sound like Democrats.

Only 3.9% to go before Texas is dead even
Texas today is 38.4% Hispanic and 44% non-hispanic white, a 5.6% difference

With current trends in a rising Hispanic population that won't take long. Republicans better get their act together

its that quirky thing where you don't actually have to vote for the party you belong to. My grandfather's family is from a long line of elected democrats, and he still votes for some on the local level, and is still registered as one. However he hasn't voted for one in a presidential election since Carter.

Hispanics arent blacks.
Hispanics wont be a reliable Democrat vote, no matter how much you try pandering to them.

They don't have to be Democratic voters if Republicans give them a reason to vote Republican

So far, they have been failing

A bigger problem near term for Republicans will be Florida

With a 2.9% Democratic edge they are in danger of moving into the Blue column

With the 2016 election looming, Republicans must take Florida. If it goes to the Dems, there is no way for Republicans to win in 2016

More midterm heroics by Republicans

We are talking Presidential elections where voters actually turn out

As The Rabbi once again cherry picks his data to draw conclusions

Hispanic Voters in the 2014 Election Pew Research Center s Hispanic Trends Project

In congressional races nationally, Democrats won the Latino vote by a margin of 62% to 36%. This is comparable to the last midterm cycle four years ago when six-in-ten (60%) Latinos voted for a Democratic candidate, but down from 2012 when Democrats took 68% of the Latino vote.

Or the old governor or the governor before that

Texas is a red state.....but the thread is about

Will it stay that way

I think it will, you think it won't. we can debate it until the cows come home but neither of us knows for sure and we will just have to wait and see.

if the liberal democrats take over the entire country, then the entire country is over as a free democratic reepublic. That seems to be what you want. I suggest that you spend a few months thinking about it in north korea or cuba and then come back and talk about it some more. Because you have no idea what you are wishing for.

Massachusetts Maryland Most Democratic States

Texas has a 3.9% Republican advantage, Florida has a 2.9% Democratic advantage

What does it mean?

Both have large Hispanic populations that are increasing at a higher rate than the general population. With Republicans taking only 27% of the Hispanic vote in 2012 and taking a hard line against immigration reform, the chances of Republicans taking Texas or Florida are diminishing to the point where Florida becomes a Blue State and Texas becomes competitive in Presidential elections

If Texas and Florida go blue with New York and California already blue, Republicans will never win another Presidential election

.

I guess thats why the number of republicans voting in 2012 increased over the amount of dems voting in 2008. Good luck with that.

Which has nothing to do with my OP

But if it made you feel good to mention it....go for it

It has everything to do with it. You've been proved wrong on this before in regards to Texas.
