That's not really very accurate. For example have you seen the new Wonder Woman?
That movie is incredible. There is nothing wrong with strong female leads or hero's when they are done right.
The problem comes when they try to force role reversals on established lore.
When you spend your entire life perceiving a hero or villain as a particular type of character you can't just turn that off.
It would make perfect sense for terminators to "evolve" to the point at which they start making beautiful women terminators to go back in time because that beauty can easily manipulate men. But that isn't what they did here. What they did here was COMPLETELY destroy the well established lore in order to shoehorn in a feminine heroin. A heroine who by the way is an illegal alien to boot lol (she has an uncle? Who can sneak them into the US)
