Tennessee passed a law banning CRT. Obviously the people of Tennessee wanted this law passed. The teachers want to teach what is outlawed.

---Tennessee Education Association is suing the state over a 2021 law that regulates instruction on race and gender in classrooms, alleging in a complaint the law is unconstitutionally vague and interferes with education on "difficult but important" subjects.---

Odd, they are taking legal actions to counter what they see as unconstitutional. Where is that going against any law?

From the article:

The law bans instruction of a number of concepts, including that the United States is inherently racist or that “an individual, by virtue of the individual’s race or sex, is inherently privileged, racist, sexist, or oppressive, whether consciously or subconsciously.”

I don't see what the problem is here. Teachers can still teach history, etc. Why do they need to be teaching kids that the USA is racist or some people are privileged or whatnot?

No. Just teach content.

For many teachers, indoctrination is more important.

Teachers are not legal institutions, teachers are not judges, they are paid to teach the curriculum presented to them by the school board, and CRT has been taken off the program.

Anyone has the right to contest a law they feel is unconstitutional. Perhaps you wish to change that also?

TN is a right to work state, just fire those teachers that don't want to comply with the law.

Nowhere does it state they are not complying with the law. It's states they are contesting the law as unconstitutional. Fire them for exercising their rights?

The general rule in Tennessee is that you can be fired for good cause, bad cause, or no cause at all. In other words, you are an employee at-will.....Not following the law is called "cause".

You all can be scary.

TN doesn't pay teachers any sort of reasonable wage by comparison with other states or private schools. However, two counties did raise teacher salaries and as a result have the best public schools in TN. They regularly fight for #1 every year.

Let me state....these two counties are NOT involved. (Wilson and Williamson)

However Memphis and Nashville inner city schools are likely leading this.

Their rights end when they go past contesting in court into openly defying.....Given that many teachers think their shit don't stink they often need to be reminded of that fact.

Know a lot of teachers do you?

Tennessee fought for the Stars and Bars and had Jim Crow. Can they talk about the sick cruelty of slavery and show pictures of segregation and Jim Crow? Or will they have to teach "both sides?"

Know many teachers do you?
Do i have to "know" them, retard?

What would the theory of their case be?

Teachers know how to teach history without teaching that the United States, or white people, are inherently evil and racist. They had been doing it for decades until they decided to inject race theory into history.

They'd have a better case if a teacher gets disciplined for violating the law and sues claiming that the law was so vague they did not know they were breaking it. It would be odd to see a teacher claiming lack of reading comprehension and fluid reasoning skills, but right now, they have no basis to sue that I can see.

Yes, it would be good to know some. I doubt education is a big thing in your neck of the woods.
