Looks like violence on the Temple Mount continues. Russia and Iran seem to be taking an active part in promoting the violence.

Israel ramps up security in Jerusalem's Old City
JERUSALEM | By Luke Baker

Israel deployed hundreds of extra police around the Old City of Jerusalem on Friday after Palestinian leaders called for a 'day of rage' to protest at new Israeli security measures.

Around 800 extra police were posted in the heart of the city and adjacent Arab neighbourhoods, where tensions have been high for the past week, following violent clashes at al-Aqsa Mosque and stone-throwing attacks by Palestinians against Israeli cars.

The focus of tension is the compound housing al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock, one of the holiest places in Islam. Jews refer to the area as Temple Mount, where an ancient Jewish temple once stood. It is the most sacred place in Judaism.

"The Israeli police have heightened security in and around Jerusalem and the Old City in order to prevent and respond to any incidents that could take place," said spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, adding that undercover units had been deployed.

In an effort to limit the threat of violence, Israel also banned access to al-Aqsa for all men under 40 on Friday, the Muslim holy day. But rather than putting a cap on unrest, the restrictions risked further fuelling anger and frustration.

Palestinian protests were planned in several cities in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, including Ramallah, Hebron and Nablus, where a young man was shot by Israeli security forces after throwing a fire bomb, the Israeli army and medics said.

A video just uploaded. The first is Al Aqsa I presume and then the camera pans around to the Dome of the Rock.
(Title is misleading. Nothing explodes in the video. Just a bunch of chanting.)

Al-Awaji calls for reviving the jihad in defence of Al-Aqsa
Friday, 09 October 2015 15:44
Dr Mohsen Al-Awaji

A Saudi Islamic preacher has called on Muslims to support Al-Aqsa Mosque's murabiteen(volunteer guards of Al-Aqsa) as they stand up to the Israeli occupation, and urged Muslims to wage a holy war in defence of Islam’s first qibla (direction of prayer).

In remarks for Quds Press yesterday, Dr Mohsen Al-Awaji said he believes what is happening in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque entails a revival of the Islamic duty of jihad. He noted that Muslims are now reaping what they sow. "If we had deserved victory, we would have had it," he said, added that there is only one answer to the violations taking place daily in Jerusalemand Al-Aqsa, and this answer is in the Holy Quran: “And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him” (Al-Hajj:78).

This Quranic verse "is a comprehensive and accurate expression, describing a huge duty that requires mobilisation and preparation, and Muslims' first qibla is worth this," he said.

Al-Awaji called for supporting the murabiteen who are stationed in Al-Aqsa and the leaders of Jerusalem's uprising. "Those who are rising up for Jerusalem act on behalf of the nation to protect Muslims' firt qibla; supporting them and the resistance is a duty for all Muslims," he added.

Jerusalem should be an international city. At different points in history the Jews and Christians lost it too.
