Temperature predictions for 2012, 2013

where are these skeptical predictions of cooling?

most of the skeptics that I have read say that we have a slight warming trend from recovery from the Little Ice Age with superimposed natural variability cycles, the main one being about 60 years long.

Skeptics dont make predictions, they show that warmers' predictions are wrong, because climate models are wrong and should only be used as a tool to promote further understanding not to scare the world into global socialism.

Global Cooling As predicted, 2011 was cool 2012 will be cool

Records from all over the world show that a long sunspot cycle is followed by cooling in the next cycle and a short sunspot cycle indicates warming. The last sunspot cycle was 12.5 years and the previous one was 9.5 years. The evidence tells us that a 3 year increase in cycle length will result in cooling of at least 1°C. As the total amount of warming that has occurred since the early 1900s is 0.7°C, this is potentially very serious. We could be returning to the conditions in the little ice age.

History tells us that cooling causes crop failures, famine, disease and, often, war.

you obviously read the one page article (and I recommend it) because you cut and pasted from it. the first and main part is about how ENSO is connected to global temps with a 6-8 month lag. this is forecasting the weather based on empirical data not forecasting the next 100 years of climate based on computer models.

the second part at the end is titled "Will the cooling continue". it points out that longer than normal sunspot cycles are frequently followed by cooling. again, suggesting that it might, based on past evidence.

and then it ends with a statement that makes the uncertainties obvious---"We must not forget that the climate changes naturally and we need to be prepared for climate change–be it cooling or warming."

something the CAGW alarmists seldom do. they dont want to dilute the message

I will predict 2012 for the GISS will be around .52 to .53c above normal for Jan through Dec...This year is starting slightly below last year, but with a likely weak nino by the end. I expect it to be slightly warmer.

2013, well, I will predict .57-.60c seems likely.

your second source for 'coolers predictions' is actually an IPCC climate modeller who broke ranks somewhat by pointing out that we are in the cooling phase of that 60 years cycle that I talked about previously. he complained that the Guardian had taking his work out of context and that warming would surely return at the beginning of the next cycle.

the article that gave a small blurb on Easterbrook didnt really say anything so I dont know what I am supposed to get from it.

epic fail as far as you trying to show that skeptics are making concrete predictions about long range climate forecasts. they did try to point out what happened in the past and what that evidence suggests for the future though. real data rather than climate models. suggestions rather shrill warnings of doom.

and anyone who gives it a moments thought will quickly realize that the consequences of cooling are vastly more detrimental than warming.

Matthew-- what do you think about the changes GISS has made to their database this year?

and no one besides the batshit crazy skydragon slayer types have denied that there is a non zero effect on radiative energy tranfer by increasing CO2

Like Walleyes and Frankie Boy. And a number of others.

West and Frank--have you ever categorically stated that CO2 makes absolutely no difference to the atmospheric system and radiative heat transfer. or are you just denying that CO2 behaves and controls the climate in the ways in which the CAGW alarmists claim it does?

Straight forward predictions. Warm 2012, maybe record. Warmer 2013, almost certainly a record. But not a one of you ready to state that it will be cooler, as it should be if it is truly cooling now.
Two years does not a climate trend make.

Two years is weather. That's all.

I bet you hate it when your own standards are applied to you.

Can you predict the aurora borealis too?
He tunes in with his tinfoil hat. That's how The Goracle speaks to his acolytes.

Still waiting on that repeatable lab experiment that shows us how a .01% change in atmospheric composition causes "Global Warming" and turns the oceans acidic

The weather will do what it does. It is well beyond our control. Its cold right, now that's all I know. Which might be more than you know.

Seriously for a moment.............

Everybody on the AGW bandwagon also implicitly puts total faith in government. Those with their feet on the ground...........do not. All of the dreams of the AGW folks are predicated on the government taking taxes and spending them prudently on stuff. ( in this case, towards combating AGW). Im a bit less enthusiastic when I see government bureaucraceis like the GSA spending close to 1 million dollars for a conference in Vegas, 130K of which was for the purpose of "scouting out the facility". Oh......and $4.00/shrimp.........all on the public dime.

Its quite amazing that somehow you've blamed the GSE's overspending on climate scientists.

You dont get it sweetie...........

You see.......once upon a time there was this solar company named Solyndra.........

Give the government taxpayer money and dollar to a thousand stale donuts they will spend that money like drunken sailors on a debauchery mission.:coffee: Only the k00k left trust them implicitly.
