Ted Cruz Declared A 'Naturalized Citizen' And Eligible To Be President

Mark Levin needs anger management and has truly gone off the deep end. What he said last night proves that he is no more a constitutional lawyer than Obama is. Levin said that Ted Cruz is a naturalized Citizen and eligible for the presidency. Where in the presidential clause does it call for a 'naturalized Citizen' to be president? It doesn't. That is like saying a Mexican or Iranian national can cross the border into the U.S. and take the naturalization test and oath of allegiance and in some mythical instance, they become a natural born Citizen that qualifies to meet the founders original intent to be president. The truth is Ted Cruz was born a dual Citizen in a foreign sovereignty with split allegiances. A natural born Citizen is a person born with sole allegiance to the United States. Dual-citizens by birth need not apply to be President and Commander-in-Chief. Mark Levin’s misstatements and disinformation Thursday were unbelievable and shocking. People like Levin and true conservatives should stand up for the Constitution and the founders original intent of what a true natural born Citizen is and stop being political opportunists like Levin is doing. Here is the brief radio segment to listen to:

Where do you get this crap from? The Constitutional requirement is "natural born citizen." That is opposed to "naturalized citizen." Cruz was born a citizen of the U.S. That makes him a natural born citizen. He was never naturalized because he didnt need to be. That makes him eligible to be president.
And he will be a damn fine one too.

Again, it isn't that simple. I don't care for the man, but in fairness I can't say, because I CAN'T KNOW.

Neither does anyone else at this point.

This is one for the courts. Not **** house lawyers.

It’s not so clear-cut for Cruz. The Tea Party firebrand senator was born to only one U.S. citizen — his father was a Cuban émigré.

Cruz’s eligibility is “not open and shut,” Ann Coulter said in a recent interview, adding that “We’re gonna’ have to have some law professors look at it and give us the answer.”

The Congressional Research Service has weighed in on the issue with a 50-page report. Here are the most pertinent passages:

The weight of legal and historical authority indicates that the term “natural born” citizen would mean a person who is entitled to U.S. citizenship “by birth” or “at birth,” either by being born “in” the United States and under its jurisdiction, even those born to alien parents; by being born abroad to U.S. citizen-parents; or by being born in other situations meeting legal requirements for U.S. citizenship “at birth.”

“It does not specifically deal with the issue of someone born outside the United States to one American parent,” CNN notes. “But if Cruz could claim citizenship at birth, according to the argument, he could claim to be natural born.”

Obama had THREE citizenships.

He was a dual citizen of the United States and Great Britain, and later had dual citizenship U.S. and Kenya until his 23rd birthday.

Obama's Kenyan Citizenship | Factcheck.org

Yet he is the president.

The founders wanted a person born with sole allegiance to the United States to be president. Obama was given a pass and the media didn't expose him as a man born with multiple nationalities ineligible to be president. Cruz has two nationalities and not eligible either. It is amazing how all these multi-national people are all of the sudden being looked at to be considered candidates for the presidency.

There is no proof that Obama was born outside of the US. So long as he was born in Hawaii, he's legit, and all evidence available indicates he was born in Hawaii.

It doesn't really matter now, we're stuck with the son of a slut and a communist but his "original" birth certificate or a copy of it has never been presented.

Iknow. The answer is he is eligible for the reasons I gave. Period.

??? You get the final say?

The law says BOTH parents. Why is this a slam-dunk for you, it appears that the law is a bit fuzzy when it comes to specifics.

US Constitution -

Article. II.

Section. 1.

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

After going through a copy of the Constitution itself, there is NOTHING that states that both of his parents must be citizens of the USA.

However, I still don't know if this is the final word - it still has to be officially ruled upon.

This has never happened before. There is no clear definition of "natural born citizen" in the constitution. The SCOTUS has never dealt with it in relation to a Presidential candidate.
If Cruz gets the nomination someone will challange it in front of SCOTUS.

Correct, that would be the sticking point.

I personally think that Cruz is a natural born citizen at this point, though.

After Obama any challenge should fail in a lower court.

Case closed.

Cruz has a funny name.

And he is Canadian.

Or at least that is what the libernuts are saying now.

Here......................this link might help you people sort out who is and isn't a U.S. citizen who has parents who are American and some other nationality..................

Citizenship Through Parents | USCIS

Interestingly enough, the OP's article even states that Obama was born in Hawaii, so I don't understand why you birthers are still harping on it.

Oh wait.................forgot.................you're just pissed there is a black man in the White House.

Wonder how you're going to feel when there is a Democrat WOMAN in the White House?

Oh **** ******* NOOOOOO!

You brought up the "RACE" card. Even though everyone knows confederate Republicans hate blacks, by bringing it up, that makes YOU the "racist".
So says USMB Republicans and they should know.

You need big fonts and swearing to make a point, you must not have too much ammo.

Yes, bringing race into this issue (instead of nationality) was exceedingly lame.

The racial aspect of the GOP simply can't be denied. When you have delegates at the Republican Convention throwing peanuts at a black CNN camerawoman and saying "This is how we feed the animals" at such a high profile event, it only underlines the message coming from that odious party. Worse is the woman saying she's used to it.
Then of course, the right wingers at the USMB with the endless "we are better than blacks" thread.
The mainstream GOP saying they know how to teach blacks "work" (see Gingrich among others). The use of blacks as criminals and welfare queens in political ads.
Voter suppression.
The fact the GOP is 90% white and based in the Deep South.
The horrible attacks on Obama's children, his wife, his dead mother (passing out DVD's to a million Republicans insisting she was a porn star), his half brother, aunt, uncle's and everyone he has ever spoken too.
The shunning of Scott and Christie for embracing Obama.
By pretending the GOP isn't a racist party at it's core is to enable racism.

When YOU are the one who injects race into the discussion, you are the one that is acting like a racist.

Not everything in life is about race - as an example, some nut says that Obama's mom was a porn star. That's obviously a load of crap, but instead of disproving it (very easily, I would imagine) you jump with both feet to the conclusion that who ever said that was a racists.

That type of logic is the same convoluted logic that made manifest the fake accusation in the first place. :eusa_liar:

Throwing around the race card in EVERY SINGLE POST YOU MAKE is a slap in the face to everyone who made sacrifices, to give rights to people of color.

The greatest leaders in history were born in places other than the country they led:

Alexander the Great was not Greek, he was Macedonian.
Napoleon was not French, he was Corsican.
Stalin was not Russian, he was born in Georgia.
Hitler was not German, but Austrian.

What do you say to that!?

Apparently their Constitions allowed it.

Case closed.

Unlike you, I am being carefully optimistic that he is an American citizen, thus eligible for election to the office of the POTUS.

The case is closed when the courts decide ... maybe even the SCOTUS.

But go right ahead and pound your chest - It's impressive. :salute:

Please answer the question.

Please answer the question.

To do so would be to ignore the fact that the Constitution is a bit fuzzy about the definition of a "natural born citizen."

You want me to answer the question, because The Mad Cabbie almighty, gets to decide?

It isn't up to me. Nor is it up to you ~
